I enjoy the posters that comment on the replacement cost and durability of turbos.
Then you see some of them get all happy about the possibility of a TT 5.0!

Thing is, I enjoy reading about the other engines but some seem to spew a lot of bad info about the Eco. That's when the thread goes to crap.
And then they blame it on us :-(

I don't like mine when I hook an aluminum two quad trailer behind it loaded and it gets 10-12mpg. Thought this truck would do better on fuel with only 1500 lbs behind it, but such is life. It is a HELL of a lot nicer inside than my Dodge 2500 was, and I only got an XLT. I figure the 3.31 gears and 17's doesn't help when towing, but overall I like the truck a lot. May trade it soon for a new '13 EB with the 3.73's and FX4 package.

If you don't like the mileage on the ecoBoost why get another? Why not try the 5.0 or the 6.2? Just curious

I just picked up a '13 FX4 with the 5.0 on Saturday and can't recommend it enough. I used to own a '10 FX4 and it's a giant upgrade in my opinion.

I think you would notice a big difference if you went from 3.31 to 3.73 gears when towing. You also can't go wrong with the FX4 pkg!!

3.73's vs. 3.31's, more options inside and outside is why I would switch.

I don't mind if people hate the EB. Mine has been perfect so far, but I think Ford makes great engines so you can't go wrong with any option. Good to see a variety on the road.

So i was fexting with the wife(fight + text) over some petty things....browsing the forums. Looking through some threads....some people politely telling everyone else that their "choice" was the right choice....anything else is just sh*t.

Starting browsings through some Detroit auto show facebook comments from some magazine articles......what do you know...some stiff calling the ecoboost weak sauce...like really....he test drove the v8 and commented the gas mileage little motor is for pansies.
Well by this time my panties are bunchin abit.
So off i go to google some 2010 truck stuff.....come across tundratalk, and there take on the ecoboost. So much miss information it was makin me sick......gas mileage, maintenace costs....overall premium ontop of the base 5oh motor....and that by the time you hit 120,000 miles it will cost you $2200 for two new turbos.......so go for the v8, it is a better motor....like really?
By this time (wife text yelling at me) guys knocking my choice of engine i choose in my truck, sh*t come to a head. So i started this little thread.
I like the choice's i made for my truck, and what it will do for me, and hopefully continue to be a good choice in the future.
And not once that i can think of i have ever sh*t rained on someone else's choice of engine....
OK, so this all makes sense now. And I do agree, there is a lot of misinformation floating around, more on other brand forums but some here too.

You know, if it was just correcting the bad info, I dont think it would go to crap as often but there are a few EB owners who not only 'correct' the bad information, they then start bashing the V8's...and yeah, it does go downhill fast from there. (And yes, I realize a lot of the bad info comes from the same guys over and over).

If anything, we all drive Fords. Spreading hate and discontent amongst ourselves just makes us all look bad whenever anyone doing research on what truck to buy lands here.
