Where is this leak comming from
 

I have a 2012 f150 3.5 eco boost and I noticed a wet spot on the engine near the a.c. compressor does any one know where this is comming from

Yes. When I bought my 2012 it was leaking exactly like this. The leak is oil seepage from that bolt in the front cover. It seeps, then either gets pushed back towards the head from wind while driving fast, or it will drag towards the AC compressor when not moving. Basically the sealant on the cover has failed around that location and it's working it's way up the bolt.. It's a huge PITA to remove the front cover, so you might consider changing the chain/phasers/VCTs while in there if you have a fair amount of mileage on your truck.

That's what i was thinking the truck only has 60 k on it so I'll probably just keep a eye on the oil for now sucks that it's leaking though

DUDE! Mine leaked at exactly 62K. Same year, same model. All I can tell you is re-sealing that front cover fixes the problem. At least you know what it is.

Yeah that's about my mileage I don't wanna get involved in that project right now. maybe in the summer atleast I know what it is thanks crazy that it leaks at that low of mileage though

There is no paper/rubber/cork gasket there, it's a sealant you have to apply in liquid form and it hardens. So in my research I found that Ford has gone through a few revisions of the sealant used on the front cover. It's either the original sealant failing or it was put on too thin from the factory and it's leaking oil through. Like I said, I didn't do the first repair for the leak, so can't say which one it is. I have since been in there myself to do the timing chain phaser TSB.
