Ecoboost baby! ! I have owned 6 pickups over the years ranging from a 4 cylinder Toyota to a 5.4L and a Powerstroke diesel. The Ecoboost had been by far the smoothest and most powerful of all. Going on 3yrs of ownership and i still love this truck!!!

the 5.0 and EB are both great engines. The 5.0 is tons of fun driving around without hauling/towing. It pulls up the rpm range without falling on its face and really sounds excellent. It gets great mpg when not towing.hauling as well. If you don't tow/haul heavy, 5.0 is an excellent choice.
With all that said, hauling around travel trailer a family packed in the truck...doesn't bode well for the ol 5.0. Just not enough down low twist to get yourself moving at a good pace. You have to really put the hammer down and get it in the upper rpm range to get moving. Not too fun when you are in the adirondack region watching engine and trans temp gauge as it downshift and revs to high heaven. This is where the EB shines, it stays in low to mid rpm range and pulls like a freight train. Unloaded its a hoot too, half throttle will get you hustling and full throttle will have you wondering if you're really in a truck. The EB makes moving the f150 feel effortless with the torque especially in the lower/mid rpm range.
Keep in mind both of mine were stock. Enjoyed the 5.0 but needed a different configuration for my needs and couldnt be happier with the EB. gotta love the turbo spooling sounds as well.
