Default What CAC do you run?

and why?

This is a thread specifically to understand the intercooler you run and why. If it cannot remain on topic, the thread will be closed.

I am in the research stages for a CAC purchase......

I run stock,I don't tow or race my truck. I do have the famous hole drilled and have nothing coming out.

While I was fascinated by the FR CAC, I just couldn't deal with the price and really wasn't crazy about the relocation. When the Wagner came out, I was interested, and when the price dropped, I ordered one from Franchi to install just prior to a cross country tow trip into the 100+ Southwest and then to the Grand Tetons (French for major league hooters). The install was almost an R&R, but I had to keep the supports loose to leave room for my extensions to tighten the hot side pipes. Build quality was German precision, just excellent!
My 6000 mile tow trip was great with no limp mode incidents from the heat or the mountains. I had no way to monitor IAT2 then or now, but the recently posted test confirm that I made a good purchase.
I think any of the good quality aftermarkets will do the job.

I run ATP. The price was great from Ecooboost Power Parts. I race my truck a bit and I wanted something better than stock.

I think the statement will be found to be very true!

Unless you are out for all out flow for future a future build I think we have seen enough evidence to show that most all of these aftermarket keep the intake temps low very nicely.

ATP here. Nothing wrong with it BUT if Wagner had come out earlier I'd bought that instead. Wanted one that fit in the stock location on my 2013 and ATP was first to market.

This is important to me as well, stock location and allow cooling to the radiator and trans cooler!

Stock right now but I tow a TT in the summer often through the Rockies - will be picking up a Wagner shortly.

Looks like a very well made piece.
