Simple oil change turns into having to leave my truck over the weekend. They blew that fuse box that's connected to the battery. Dude tells me they only see that happen when you jump a truck backwards. I went straight to the gm.

with so many electronics in the truck this day... id be worried about that ****.

This is why i refuse to take my vehicle in, even for major service bc of this.

+1 for doing your own routine maint. I take a picture of my receipts and store them in my google account with mileage on them.

Wow, I hope they provided you with a loaner vehicle for the weekend at least.

Escort for 15 bucks a day. He kinda made it sound like I did it. Said it's covered under warranty because he can't prove that I jumped my truck off with cables swapped. Then I made him feel stupid...smh

has the whole roof mounted wheel chair thing and all ..
takes car for service with 30k miles on it ..
gets a call 2 days later they need to replace his engine...
after some investigation .. why do they need to replace a 30k mile saleen engine..

cause some tech thought it would be cool to do doughnuts in back parking lot and blew the engine
they replaced the engine and a few other things (charger too) no questions.. all costs covered.. not 10 cents out of his pocket ..

hmmm just happened to blow the engine on a routine service huh ..

do your own work going fwd
My uncle had this happen a few years ago, took his 69 shelby gt500 (fully restored show car/investment) to a reputable shop to have some work done (repairing the speedo i think). Anyways he kept calling to see when it would be ready and they kept giving him the run around so he went down to check it out. Turns out the owners son drove it and threw 3 rods threw the block. It took almost 2 years for him to find a 428 cobra jet block to replace it with. He sued the shop and won of course got replacement cost plus diminished value. Still pissed though cause it no longer has the original engine

Hi brettd4x4.

I'd like to look into this for you. Could you please PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info?

Thanks!

Ashley

You know, I must say it really is good having you on here. If these issues are actually being looked into maybe you guys can get the dealerships on the same page.

When I called my dealership after the p0300 code they were like, "nope, never heard seen it before with an ecoboost. No need to bring it in, just drive it" and "It probably won't happen again". That's not exactly what people should be told who are driving 46K trucks. Same dealership also put in 5w20 and told me that their techs could tell if they put in 5w30 by feeling it.

^^^Wow, I think you be better off letting my girls diagnose your trucks issues. Sounds like they know just as much. (They're 2 1/2 and 4)
