Default Water/methanol injection

Any of you have any experience with this or any recs on whose kit to use? After reading the last writeup in National Dragster where they put a kit on the 662 HP Mustang I'm wondering about putting one on my Ecoboost. Especially after I get the tunes from Mike at 5 Star. Here's the link to the magazine article: http://www.snowperformance.net/magazine_articles.php

I've run it on a turbocharged 383 before. It allows you to run more boost and/or timing. That being the case, it will do you NO good unless you plan on spending a good bit of time on the dyno tuning for it.

IMO, it's way to early in the EB-mod game to be considering Meth injection. There are a dozen other things, namely tuning, exhaust, and turbocharger options, that should be pursued first.

You could use minimal meth to slightly cool the charge and keep the top sides of the intake valves clean. I think Livernois tuned a meth injected SHO. I think it's a good idea, just not to crank the hell out of the timing and boost as Mike said.

This is a good Idea. I do agree with mike though no point in doing it unless you tune for it. and yes livernois has tuned an SHO on it so this could be a sign of things to come

There is no real reason for this or any serious hardware mods (turbos) until we have an option to increase fuel.

Fueling is our problem.

Meth is a great substitute for fuel I never tune for meth, I use it as a safe guard. If you tune for it and it fails during wot It's over.

water/meth can work really well on a DI engine like this... i personally prefer the AEM it has a great nozzle, good pump and a failsafe flow valve- well designed and executed. Speaking with some engineers at the blue oval its going to be tough to get the HPFP to do a lot more than this one, but definitely trying to do our best. the mazdaspeed3 and mazdaspeed6 is actually a good community to look at their HPFP and injector seal mods, becauase they share a similar DI architechture to the ecoboost engines

unless the meth controller can control the ebc/wg's and/or timing, i won't tune for it. it's just another component ( of many) that can fail.

We just installed a Snow Water/Meth kit on our F150 Ecoboost for some testing. It's the Snow Max MPG kit that we use on the Diesel trucks for towing or a slight increase in power. I've used this kit on a few SHO/MKS cars in the past couple years, so the outcome should be similar. Of course power really depends on the mix of water/meth or alcohol you run. We usually run a 25% meth and 75% water mix for safetly, which is what I'm currently running on the EcoBoost. I'll post the progress.
