Volant dyno #'s

Volant dyno #'s
I am interested in the Volant intake for the ecoboost.
-If you have one, do you like it or is there anything you do not like about it?
-Also does the noise from the turbos increase at all?
-Has anyone had a problem with this intake?
-Does anyone know the dyno #'s?
Thanks for the feedback in advance, please people that have had experience with this intake only.

1. The only thing I know to be careful of is the filter. Some aftermarket filters have a much larger micron rating than stock, allowing larger dirt particles through to the engine.
2. Yes.
4. Don't expect much on the dyno, like about 5 hp max. The quickest Ecoboost sans nitrous is actually still running the stock air intake.

Keepin' the lights on!
In my opinion, the only reason to run the Volant intake is the Donaldson Powercore filter. It's rated for 100k service life and is supposed to filter really good. It's actually OEM on a lot of trucks (diesel pickups, OTRs). Not sure you would see any performance with it though. You would be surprised at how much dirt those filters can hold.

I got the volant when they first came out and out a review on here somewhere about it. I love everything about it and bought it 1 because the powercore filter is awesome, filters well and flows very well 2 because the air box design doesn't suck in hot under hood air like EVERY other CAI for this truck.
I'd say turbo noise increased slightly but not as much as getting a tune and it may have helped spool up and power along with economy if driven right just enough to be noticeable I think.
Never dyno'd it though, sorry

i have to agree here - the stock airbox is REALLY nice, I suggest to keep it and use a drop-in filter and a catback..

Geoff, until you put the freak on the rollers....you cannot post anything in a thread with "dyno" in the title. I'm sorry, but that's just the rules.
