Video of drain hole in ecoboost CAC cooler (ecoboost f-150 drain hole seep)
My truck has higher mileage (80k).
I have been having allot of issues with mid/hard acceleration lately, shuddering, ect.
I decided to drill a 1/16" hole in the cooler as the benefits outweighs the risks.
After drilling the hole and starting the truck, gunk came out everywhere.
I sure am glad I drilled the hole.
After driving for 15 minutes and then it letting sit so everything could drain, all my problems went away and the truck runs like new...
Here is a youtube link to a video I took.

My buddy drilled his new limited and said nothing has come out of the weep hole. Do you feel air coming out at idle? Maybe he didn't drill the right spot? I wonder if the hole will get plugged up in time? Guess he'll have to keep an eye out. I'm gonna wait on mine til I get a lil more mileage in.

Are dealers informed of this drilling stuff? Would they void the warranty if they find a hole? Is there a way to cover up or seal the hole temporary before taking my truck into the dealer? Thank you.

Keepin' the lights on!
I seriously doubt they would see it even with oil dripping from it. As far as voiding warranties, it would all depend on what the truck went into the shop for. They can't just void a warranty for the sake of voiding it.
