I talked with Danney at EDP today. He told me that the kit will be competitively priced with the F150 Procharger kit. I offered my truck as a mule, and it looks like we will likely get started in February if everything goes as planned. I will share the details as I get them.

One of the issues in turboing the 5.0 is they are already running very high compression.
Building a 5.0 with a conversion to lower compression pistons would allow more performance from a matched turbo set-up.

5 years ago, I would have thought the same thing. However, note that both Ecoboost engines are at 10/1 and making 16-18 psi stock on 87 octane. The 5.0 is 10.5/1. Ok, so there is an advantage to DI, but even still the Whipple 5.0 truck kit makes 10 psi out the box, while the 11/1 Mustang 5.0 kit makes 11 psi and many people bump it to 12. Pretty amazing what advanced engine management can get away with.

And to think. . . in 1995, people were popping LT1 pistons left and right when they attempted 6 psi on a 10.25/1 engine.

The need for lower compression is a total myth. Lower compression makes for a lazy and less efficient motor. More compression will produce more torque and will also spool up a power adder faster. I won't build a motor with less than 10-1.

Stock Ecoboosts don't make that much boost.

There are lots of folks reporting their 2.7 eb's are making 16-18 stock. There's even some videos showing numbers even higher still.

My bad, didn't know you were referring to the 2.7s.
