I had a Vizard book that stated, however, that most "turbo" mufflers either didn't flow, didn't muffle, or didn't do either.

The design is typically a perforated tube, but the flow makes 3 passes in the muffler and two 180's. For sure, a single-pass perforated tube, packed muffler like the Magnaflow will flow better...or the stock muffler.
So....Is a Turbo muffler worth it on the Ecoboost...I've used turbo mufflers on V-6 engines in the past like the Ford Ranger 2.8L & 2.9L which produced great sound and no effect on performance good or bad just a good sounding exhaust...so is it worth it over stock for a good sounding exhaust with little gain in performance?

Due to a true "turbo" style muffler's design and flow path, it's probably the last thing I would put on in place of the stock muffler. Might as well ram a watermelon up the tailpipe while you're at it.

Okay...What would you use instead of a Turbo to produce a good sounding exhaust on a V-6 engine.....most everything I've heard to date sounds like a chainsaw on crack...so whats out there for the guys like me that wants a mellow exhaust sound without the beehive buzz and fart sound that flows?

Have to say that Joewee's system is probably one of the best sounding for a V6. Just a nice mix of mellow, not too harsh or raspy. Will never sound like a V8 so you may as well quit trying!

Hi

Dont know how to explain. But Aero 4040 is my best choice and the resonator is perfect with this on my ecoboost. No problems till now. Regarding noise this will not have any impact inside cabin. I observed one more thing If you use sct 87 tune it reduces the noise and drone to the extent, with ford stock it makes more noise. And again, its upto your choice, ecoboost is a beast. Airaid and aero makes the sound like diesel , Thanks to jowee , exactly I was also looking into donaldson big muffler, but based on few friends from cummins diesel guys donaldson was their choice and has less drone than aero. I am still in fond of f250 exhaust tip.

X2 if i use any of the canned and custom tunes from Sct and 5* the drone and incabin noise is a lot less. Yea the exhaust is still loud when stomping on the go pedal, but uncanning the actual difference in how cab noise and drone are reduced.
I also found the truck has a deeper tone to it.
