What? I did not say that. Are you trying to say that theirs won't leave a trace like the other gas tuners?

Yea figures. I just know that it's the same tuner/gauge pod for the gas and diesel so I thought maybe they would tune the same but quickly found out I am wrong.

I would Reccomend livernois tuner (best one) BUT I read somewhere in a forum that the computer can detect if you had a tuner. Even after you put back the old stock tune it throws a code that you use a tuner. Ford probably don't want people to turn their ecoboost into crazy fire breathing Engine.

Is there a tuner that can be installed to give these benefits, but doesn't leave evidence in the computer of having been installed if the truck needs to be put back to stock?
Court precedent puts the burden on Ford to prove the tuner caused damage before a warranty can be denied. Of course know it all jerks at Ford dealers will try to intimidate you telling you the warranty is void. B.S.! I think "intelligent" service people look at the whole picture before trying to cheat you our of a warranty. In all fairness, if you've beaten the hell out of the vehicle at the drags every weekend you can't expect Ford to repair your truck. If not, don't let them intimidate you with B.S. The idiots at my local dealership told me they wouldn't even back a radio problem because I had a supercharger! I changed their mind, because I would put up with that crap.
Obviously the smartest thing is to keep them from getting into all that by keeping them in the dark! I think they can determine you've changed the tune... but they probably won't look for it unless you give them a reason.

I'm holding off getting a programmer until I can find an "add on type" that doesn't alter the original tune... but alters it! I liked that approach with an "Edge" Progammer with "on the fly changes" on my Duramax diesel , but I don't know if I'll find one for an Ecoboost! I wish I could find manufacturers that made what I want to buy rather than the common type seen on this forum where they change the original tune.

If anybody knows if there are brands like the "Edge with attitude" that work on the Ecoboost let me know! The "send me a tune" approach doesn't do it for me! I want a module with a number of tunes I can change on the fly for different purposes like towing, economy, etc.! Come on.... build what I want.... not what you want to sell! If anyone that finds one, please PM me! Thanx in advance!

Agreed!! I use a tuner and common sense along with it. Like someone said: Don't take it to the track and don't abuse it and 99.9% of the people using a tuner will never have a problem. Also like stated many times before, be upfront with the service dept. and most likely it will not be a problem. But it all comes down to in the end that we the purchaser have to ultimately be responsible for our actions of wanting to alter the machine from the way it was designed to perform.

That's not the issue! Some dealerships will intimidate people and deny all warranty coverage for any warranty claim no matter how unrelated to the modification made. Responsiblity cuts both ways. The owner of the vehicle and Ford both need to be responsible. My point is not to be intimidated if you put a progammer on your vehicle and your local dealer says that your warranty is voided automatically. If push comes to shove, that decision will ultimately be made by a judge not a service writer at your dealership. Both sides need to be reasonable.

I went to the Fastlane Website looking for an "add on" programmer similiar to Edge with Attitude and see nothing there. It lists 2012 Ecoboost, but then shows no module, etc. If they offer a product like that it is not obvious on their website. Any suggestions?

its an inline device that has no GUI. you "swap" tunes using dipswitches on the module.
