I wish I had weighed the stock 18x7.5" wheels with 265/60/18 Michelin tires. I am guessing they didn't weigh more than 70lbs.
I watched ebay for a while before I found the FX 20x8.5" with Bridgestone 275/55/20 tires. I had already looked up the specs on Tirerack.com for the Pirellis, Bridgestones and Michelins. The Pirellis (STR) 8" treadwidth were not any wider than my Michelins 8" treadwidth. I don't know how that can be given the tire size but it is. The Bridgestones have a 9.6" treadwidth.
The 20" wheels and tires that I bought were mounted and balanced with a round circle of cardboard on each side held on by clear shipping tape. They had a shipping weight of 92lbs each. I just looked up the weight of the 18" wheel and tire seperately. Combined it comes out to 66lbs.

I think the SSI T4 tune (looking at the 60' times) would have been close to the MPT tune had the shifts be raised. I had one of those freak Strategy codes that would not respond to rev limiter or shift mph changes. It couldn't be done on the hand held, Shawn couldn't do it in the tune and SCT couldn't do it in the tune. SCT even sent me a base test tune with the shifts and rev limiter raised but no response.
The funny thing is it would let me take off the top speed limit, change the idle rpm in drive and the revolutions per mile for my tire size. Go figure.

For those that want light wheels, get the stock XLT 17" wheels, they are pretty light and what I have run for my best times.

MPT told me they only use certain strategy codes that they know work for all the parameters. When I datalogged I noticed the Strategy code was different. The last number in the code was a "3" instead of a "1". I asked them about it and he told about only using certain codes.
JDM used this trick back in day on the Lightnings. I had a 2000 that had the box code CUX2. The 2001 had the box code CXN1. Jim said the 2001 CXN1 had more parameters for tuning which he liked. He figured out that he could load the CXN1 tune on the 2000 CUX2 and it worked fine giving more tunability.

If I can get the Intune to work, no need to get a custom tune. Here was my slip. My 60ft was a little worse since I didn't stall the truck at all.

I posted all of this info in this thread and forgot to post in the 5.0 1/4 miles times thread to update my ET. I finally remembered today to do this.

What was the temp out when you ran your truck that made a huge differance for my truck I had a k&n cai and a flow master muffler with no silencer and went a 15.1 on a 95 degree day then waited for a nice cold day 40 degrees at the beginning of this year and went a 14.3 and I just got a five star tune and was dumb and ran it on a hot day 85 degrees and only went a 14.0 which isn't bad but I'm gonna wait for another cold day before I say that's all it will do cuz it feels much faster with the tune
