Took Truck in For Timing Chain Rattle, GETTING NEW ENGINE
#21
Likely, of the 11 years I worked at a Ford dealer there were a quite a few instances where they wanted parts returned for further investigation, one time we had a customer towed in off the interstate with a brand new Lincoln Mark 8, only had 8000 miles on it and the engine was seized.
They told us to close the hood, give the owner a loaner and they flew an engineer down the very next day, he verified the locked up engine and they sent a truck down to pick it up and bring it back to Detroit or where ever they test things. Yes the entire car, not just the engine.

Had a coworker that never checked oil in an explorer. Ran it completely out of oil...
Anyway back to topic I'm just waiting to see if my timing chain rattling gets any worse. Scared the crap out of me when I first heard it. Being a little over two years after engine rebuild from that camshaft and more timing issues isn't cool.
