If you're below this range you might have an argument.

CITY MPG
15
Expected range for most drivers 12 to 18 MPG

HIGHWAY MPG
21
Expected range for most drivers 17 to 25 MPG

Look, I understand that. But I have identical trucks. On the exact same day, filling up at the exact same pump, driving at the exact same time on the exact same roads, but with one having a 500# load the difference was 2mpg with the loaded truck getting 18.6 and the unloaded truck getting 16.5. This is not imagined.

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH ONE OF THESE TRUCKS. Forgive me for not being happy with one truck that gets what I expect (16.5-19.7mpg) while the other gets 14-16.9.

Both turbo impellers feed a common outlet volume, the inlet end cap of the intercooler. How, what method, is Ford using to be sure the boost level produced by one impeller is always closely equal to the other?

And what happens if one turbo impeller happens to be carrying the majority of the load? In that case one cylinder bank might have a significantly higher exhaust backpressure than the other.

Could that be why some F150 EcoBoost engines get the advertised FE while others do not?

I'm going to get the "Acceleration Stalling" TSB done. It stalled on me once.

They called me back after it being there for 2 hours to tell me that they couldn't find an issue with the mileage or power, and that there is a TSB out on larger LT tires versus the stock P tires.

I showed them my mileage tracking for the trucks

one getting 14, 15 and 16mpg unloaded all the time
the other getting 17, 18 and 19 mpg per tank. with 500# of tools and equipment all the time.

I talked to the tech over the phone when he was telling me they didn't see a problem and when I explained the differences " maybe you got a good one" was the response...
Well I guess I got a bad one. I checked my gaps, all were .040-.045, regaped to .030. I now have a smooth idle finally. But I am still getting 15-16 mpgs on the highway with it set at 63 mph, not awesome. I would like to thank the guys looking into this, I hope you guys find a fix cause those F350's are calling to me every time I visit the dealer.

Going to pick hers up tomorrow.

They performed the transmission pump TSB, When that didn't fix it they changed the torque converter and the whole pump housing. We'll see what changing the torque converter does for mileage/power.

I am bringing mine in to the dealer tomorrow. Averaged 13.8 on roundtrip from Vegas to san Diego cruise set at 70 mph. Something def isn't right even with my larger tires.

Question rpm

Op, any chance you noted the rpm on your two trucks. Reason i ask is i started my truck the other day and noticed it was at 1100 rpm, ok so thats high idle. Thing is it stayed that way for my 8mile trip to work. Several stop lights put it in N to check. It will idle at 600-610 in N or 570-580 in gear. But some times its around 1100-1300. Ill try to keep better track.

Everything on the planet has variability, that will follow some sort of statistical variation. Not all trucks weigh the same, are the same length, are the exact same color, or get the exact same mileage.

This is a fact of nature that cannot be overcome, even in high volume engineered parts.

You may not be happy, but that's the way the world works.

Some of these numbers are really high, im impressed. I run 87 (pure gas) all of the time and have NEVER gone a full tank averaging 16+. I'm always in the mid 16's, and thats if I'm intentionally watching the green bar dance. I do more 55+mph driving than city, usually i set my cruise right at 77-79mph, and that's for 1-2 hours at a time, no stops.

Would this warrant a trip to the dealership for a good look? If you guys are pulling 20's consistently, and I cant break 17 when I'm actually trying to...

For reference, I live in central Iowa. Minor (if any) hills, flat wide open interstate...
