It won't, I've already tried a solution similar to this with cardboard. Even cut to block more of the intake side than the "hot" side of the intercooler. Didn't change anything. If Ford would actually each out to their customers about this issue, maybe we could save them some time and money in R&D and reach true solution. I have a feeling Ford knows what the solution is, and it's an expensive one!

Ecofx4d, have you considered drilling a small hole in the bottom of the intercooler? A couple of folks have tried it so far, and Volvo used to do it. If you have a chronic and repeatable problem, I'd like to know if it fixes it.

Oh Ford knows. Im sure it involves a complete redesign of the CAC system.

Remember the current body style predates the EB. So, since Ford was so excited to show their new GI Joe to all the neighborhood kids they failed to see complications of dropping the EB into a current body style.

Additionally, Ford focused on "proving" the EB by beating the living dog crap out of it in all these unimaginable situations and created a video for it, which I and many others fell for.

So Ford, with the new redesign in the works, try and get it right this time. Have your media gurus shoot a new torture test video as well. This one can include grueling tests such as driving in the rain without the truck going misfiring and choking and starting from a complete stop without feeling like the rear end is going to fall apart. Once you get the real world driving sceanrios in check, then focus on 24 hours of max tow at max throttle and whatever other ridiculous crap you can dream up.

BucketMan - Hilarious post. I'd be laughing harder if it weren't so true.

Update - According to Ford's "Customer Relationship Center" (that's funny too), my buyback request is being evaluated now. Has anyone else pursued a buy back? Results?

Yes, but for a different issue.
Denied.
Start looking for a lawyer.

We don't have the luxury of a lemon law here in Canada so we either suck it up or trade are lemon in for some other poor mug to buy.

If you have a lemon law in the state you live in why even bother trying to do a buyback request through Ford? I'd bet that 99.9% of them get rejected. By getting a lawyer do you mean using your lemon law protection?

I am/was a loyal Ford customer, from a loyal Ford family whom has relatives that work for Ford.

Stupid me thought Ford would take care of me, if not in the form of a buy back, financially, or at the very least in the form of a extended warranty.

All was denied.

I got a lawyer. Legally, cant divulge the specific results, but I came out ahead, fixed my truck for the most part (aftermarket), and will never own another Ford again.

That's too bad. I'm not expecting much from Ford, but as a loyal Ford customer, I wanted to give them a chance to make it right before taking legal action under the lemon law. The law in my state heavily favors the consumer and I feel I have met the conditions under the law and have a pretty strong case but I hope I'm not forced to go that route.

Jealous of your 5.0 Azuri! Just giving Ford a chance to make this easier on everybody, but not optimistic. My understanding is buyback decision is final, meaning no going back and negotiating with Ford after the fact. That then sets the stage for legal action should I choose that route. Bottom line is that I do not trust nor do I want this vehicle. I don't want to take a bath on a trade or sell it to some poor schmuck.
