Good luck fellas. Hopefully this fixes it up and I'll buy another Eco in a few years

Gents,

The tsb seems not ony to change the cac, but it also adds the same deflector plate. Can we have any insight about the actual cac design change?

Does not seem drastic to me: no new p/n, just new rev, no additional port / connector, same interface, same deflector required... I understand the problem is marginal so should need minor design change, but would love to build some confidence before pushing too much on the dealer!

Thanks!

Would you happen to have pictures of the old and new for comparison?
Thanks

Mine did it again today. Took it in ASAP, no codes. So they made me take off D- Bug screen, remove my air aid replacement filter and were about to have me put stock exhaust back on when they found TSB 12 10 19. New CAC is ordered. They at some point put the deflector shield on. Fingers crossed.

My new 2013 has alot different CAC and plumbing. Also has an electrical plug into a part attached to a port that doesn't exist on older CAC. This doesn't seem to be same as new part in TSB either.

Looking at this, my confidence in the ford fix went down one more notch. Why would Ford invest in all kinds of additional parts and wire harness and whatever controller to make 2013 Eco work if the TSB intercooler does the job? One answer maybe: there is the caveat that comes with the TSB. You probably give up in some power / performance. I can guarantee you that the heat dissipation of the intercooler was carefully computed hence the size, and there have to be a trade off with reducing its efficiency. Proof: z06, does your 2013 cac has the plate? Probably not. The reason why the TSB CAC is not simply smaller is most likely for internal airflow reasons.

The story is probably not over!
