There is a fix for the condensation build up in the intercooler!

I have always thought the shudder issue is due to poor wastegate control at low rpm and/or low load conditions. I base this on what I see when monitoring the boost levels in those same condition via the OBD output in my Torque app. At low load (e.g. 1500 rpm in 6th gear, or ~55-60mph) I see the boost level jumping from ~1-5psi. I think the wastegate has a really hard time keeping a steady boost at low levels, especially when at low rpm. Makes sense to me... 2 small turbos with 2 small wastegates trying to modulate to hold a small boost level.
If you go down to 5th gear in the same conditions, there is no shudder that I can feel.

I would tend to agree that there are "multiple" shudder problems but I know for sure that at least one of them is moisture related just like completely falling on its face is.
Per my previous post . . .
Hadn't had shudder or falling on its face through June even through a few hot Kansas heat showers so we took the EB to Colorado where at altitude it was low 60s and mist to light rain. Almost every ascent following a lengthy descent the minute I had load on the engine I had shudder. Finally just put it down in 3rd gear [some 4th] to keep the rpms way up and it solved the problem.
Then after not having a problem for the last two days, a false sense of security caused me to pass a couple of 50mph cars on US50, early morning, cool, light rain and I completely lost power . . . amazing we didn't die.
I have felt another shudder though that starts because I'm in 6th and lock up, 50-55mph or so, encounter a sudden load like a hill or headwind, and instead of unlocking and downshifting, it like refuses, more lugging, and then it sounds like the turbos and waste gates start fighting each other and there's a downward spiral. I don't think this one is related to moisture at all since I've had it happen in low humidity. If you are only at 1400-1500rpm in high gear and encounter a load, the stupid truck ought to unlock at minimum and downshift if necessary.
Anyone else seen this specific shudder?

With all due respect, I'd be surprised if this was true. It would have to be awfully extreme conditions for any difference to show up. Not picking a fight; just wondering if this is something you expect so it seems true.

What if part of the fix and new PCM calibration is a detuning in order to help alleviate the issue. Manufacturers have done it before.

I have had the ecoboost problem 4 times. First time had no clue what it was. On a 14 hour drive from NYC to Canada in fog after cruising I hit the gas lightly and felt a stutter traffic conditions made me slow down, Then about a hour after that I punched it and she went dead I almost got smash by the car I was trying to pass. Got to canada and they did tsb 12-6-4. Did it again on the the way back to NYC fist time no code second got a code also on third no code on forth time.
Back in NYC dealer had car for 2 weeks finally called and told me its the intercooler problem and ford had no fix. Called customer service and she told me we will fix it once we know how in the mean time nothing she could do for me. Called her weeks later to get update and no response after 3 polite messages,so much for Ford customer service.
I had a thought, I am willing to share my Vin# repair dates and what was done. Is anyone else interested in swaping this info. I figure if I can show them hard facts that others are having the same issue maybe they may provide the service we paid for. 2012 screw 4,100k so far first incident was 2 weeks after I bought it.

Got the tsb done two weeks ago. Very disappointing results. Don't know if it fixed the condensation problem, but I'd rather have it back. We've made two 500 mile trips since we got it back. Truck seems to have either gained 1000 lbs, or lost 50 HP. I've got turbo lag that I never had before. Just hit 36k so guess it's my problem now. Truck ran effortlessly before. Looks like Livernois tune $600 for me. Hate Dealerships, they never touch your sh#t without messing it up. Sorry that they even touched it. The
deflector looks easy enough to remove, if that's what Livernois says is necessary. Sorry for the bad news report, but the good news is only one week and $600 away

I feel like my issue was moisture related. I drive my truck for 7k miles in Colorado with not one issue. High and dry. I realize this is the first time it has happen but the environmental conditions were consistent. Gonna drive it tomorrow and see what happens. Ford best come clean with this issue. Has the NTSB opened an investigation yet?
