Jd's

talking about the torque of the pistons being timed during the firing cycle, travel slightly changing speed and injectors being shut off after engaging a misfire or other obstical in their compression/ignition cycle, possibly water with the measurements in time being precise.

Wonder what the hose or wire cable is for on the 2013? Thought of a heater in the intercooler. LOL

I agree. There is a whole lot more to the system than what either of us listed. Reading through the linked document, it's quite surprising just how much stuff is really going on. I only listed a few items I personally found interesting. I highly recommend to anyone who is interested that they read through the entire document themselves.

Keep in mind that the OBD info is specific for each model year and that the engince control strategies change from year to year.

What I find interesting is that I can't find the 2013 F-150 listed as certified yet on the EPA website. That indicates that the control strategy or some component has changed from MY2012, requiring re-testing.

Has anyone seen the latest Motor Trend long-term Mini Countryman updates?

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...all4_update_5/

They have the same problem some of us are having with our F-150s!

Well just for informational purposes for those considering lemon law . . .

My lemon law was denied by Ford.

I am now unable to even schedule a service appt. to get my truck looked at much less fixed. Of course, we know they don't actually have a fix so that's probably the reason for that . . .

Ford customer care won't return my calls.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GO PAPERLESS!

I know this is my own stupidity [in hindsight] but I had no reason at the time to not trust Ford. Because of "save a tree" combined with all service records being available at owner.ford.com in case you need them I've only got actual hardcopy of my first visit. I just went into owner.ford.com to get a service history dump myself and only two of the three service records are there but every field on them has been changed to "UNKNOWN" except for the oil change on the 2nd trip. Imagine that? Wonder how that happened? And why is the third record missing completely? Because three visits for the same problem are required for lemon law?

My lawyer is exploring the cost/benefit of an actual lawsuit now.

I cannot in good conscience sell or even trade this truck knowing it has a problem that has previously nearly caused accidents three times and it's just plain a miracle that the wife and I were not killed back in July coming home from Colorado. I'd like to think it was skilled driving but we were just plain lucky, period.

This has gone from bad, to worse, to nightmare.

Hang in there, keep it in warranty. A ford dealer across/out of town will probably be good to you. Thin a lot of people over the decades have had trouble with certain dealerships/stealerships.
