There is a fix for the condensation build up in the intercooler!

Forgive me for not reading all 45 pages but does this issue affect all Ecoboosts? I drove mine 8 hours to Colorado in July without a hiccup. My fuel mileage seemed to go down after the first 300 miles but I never lost power. I put over 1000 miles on the truck during the trip including a drive up Pike's Peak and some other mountain driving and it ran fine.

Since then I have developed rough idle, lost 5 mpg, shudder, and fall on its face, along with a couple other annoyance problems, it could be that some have the right combination of other problems to maximize occurrences. My guess is that those that have a really heavy foot are less likely to have it happen since you'll be doing a better job of keeping the moisture sucked out. Since I bought this particular truck to maximize mpgs, I tend to drive it pretty conservatively. When I have the wife in there, I drive conservatively period just because she's one of these grabbing the grab bars nervous nellie types.
That said, I think that all ecoboosts have the "potential" to do this if the right environmental conditions align. Mine has only fell on its face probably a dozen times total but the problem is that it can get you killed when it happens. So can the shudder problem if you're in heavy traffic with some idiot on your rear bumper.
Out of all the times it's happened, I had 3 previous "near miss" major problems "by myself." It was having the wife in there with me this last time and realizing just how close I came to getting her seriously hurt or killed that was the proverbial straw for me.
more . . .

Could it be some might drive with their left foot on brake pedal? The engine will go to idle if you press the brake pedal while pushing the gas.

I would agree, but I would also guess Ford thinks under the right conditions they could or why else did they start putting on the Deflector plate on all trucks being made, even that we know that was a failure.

What would be the cause of some trucks doing it and some not? Is there something mechanically with some trucks that causes some to build condensation more readily, or feel the effects of condensation more...or is it just some are driven in a more prime environment for condensation to form?

But I see some are going back as Lemons so I would think they are working on it, but it takes a lot of time and testing I think it will be months before they come up with a fix.
