Either that or maybe the ECM is setup to not set DTC's while a non-approved adaptor is connected.

If you are seeing codes through your obd adaptor but get no CEL, then your adaptor must be getting the mode $06 data that shows every misfire detected. A you only get a CEL and stored DTC if the rate of misfires exceeds a threshold which is determined dynamically based on fueling.

I had my OBD bt connector plug in when I had the P0430? thrown (eff below threshold) during a short hw cruise.

Just picked up my 2012 Fx4 Eco Screw 6.5' box three weeks ago, and a few days ago the check engine light popped on. I had been experiencing the highway shaking when trying to pass while it was raining.
The dealership told me the TSB in question did not apply because my truck was built after the specified build out date, but did say the error code dealt with misfires and they ordered a catalytic converter (*right side) and *a coil of some kind*. The guy could not elaborate any more on that, but was told by the mechanic that he wanted to have a coil on stock in case he needed it when they replaced the converter.
I'm bringing it back in next Tuesday for them to apply these changes and then we'll see what happens. Truck only has about 1600km on it, bad luck for me.
Also so far I have been getting exactly what the EPA claims for fuel economy, but have needed to drive like a granny.

Put an adjustable grill on the opening, maybe a floor Heater grill, to cut down on condensation on Dew Point days?
