This happened to me tonight on my way home from work. I don't know if I had any codes, but the truck shook violently and the check engine light was flashing. RPM held steady around 3500 and wouldn't shift. Got video of it to show the dealer, but something tells me I'm gonna get blown off... again. I pulled off the highway and it sat idling for a few minutes and the light went off. Drove fine the rest of the way home. I do not have the latest TSB or deflector, either.

I had the tsb performed two weeks ago.
Last week it happened again. 70 MPH cruise control during rain storm for 1.5 hrs causes it. TSB did not seem to help.
Dealer said codes were missfires did not get details.

As I said, the Ford TSB, lowering the efficiency of the CAC, only raises the bar, makes it less likely that condensate will accumulate, but in the end it is still Mother Nature that takes/has control.

I had the latest TSB performed 1 1/2 weeks ago, minus the deflector. Additionally, since I had showed P0301 twice, they swapped coil packs on 1 and 2.
The next day I had the misfire again and it came up as p0302. I had a new coil pack installed on #2 last week and took a long drive yesterday with plenty of opportunities to duplicate typical misfire causing conditions but no misfires occurred. Here's hoping the coil pack was the main culprit.

PS, I still had a slight shudder for the first half of the drive but after a decent WOT run from a standstill it seamed to clear up.

Well, I can now say I "KNOW" what you guys are speaking of. We had a good downpour yesterday/last night and humidity was very high, for las vegas. We went out to do some stuff and upon nailing the truck ~50mph to merge from access to interstate, the truck seemingly had a dead misfire. After ~2 good jerks, I let out, knew what it was, and put my foot right back in it. It still had a slight shudder to it all the way home, and for partial driving today. I've seemingly "cleared" the issue with some right foot love. I'm sure the passengers were wondering wtf I was doing last night, but I didn't acknowledge the problem in their presence. Now I'm curious if it'll show up on our cross country trip in say CO or KS. hmm...

Interesting - how many miles on your truck?

It sounds to me like the TSB is not really solving the issue, but rather making it maybe less likely for the issue to occur. I am not surprised, and hopefully Ford will come up with a real fix soon.
For those who experience the issue: how about avoiding very long same speed conditions by every once in a while stepping on it? Yeah, that's a bandaid for sure, but could help in the meantime, maybe?
I would love to know what the percentage of affected trucks is, vs. the total number of EB engines out there. That would tell us the chances of Ford really doing something about it.

i tried that on my last road trip, it really didn’t help much, unless i didn’t do it often enough...

This has happened twice to me already but I dont go on long trips much so its something I can live with for now. Hopefully there will be a real fix , if not what about building a different type of intercooler. Just a thought.
