Does SSI update your current tune file if you have T4, or is the T5 a separate purchase?

Yes it is a new purchase. SSI has updated the tunes since the first one for free. This is not an update but a completely new tune, built from scratch. IMO a great bargin and glad it was not an update the difference is like night and day.

I've ran the T4 (89 octane) street tune for roughly 6k miles. Enjoyed the tune and have had zero issues. Decided from some of the reviews to give the T5 (93 octane) street/beast mode a shot. I also changed out the stock plugs for the SP 534's gapped at .30. The idle is smoother, the truck feels a lot stronger and the power feels more refined. It's the best $178 I've spent on a truck period!

Do you have to run 93 with the T5 BM tune? I've been running the T4 Street for 6 months or so and I'm very satisfied with it. The T5 sounds a whole lot better but the 93 may be a deal breaker for me.

ok so i am sold on SSI and the t5, i just have about 6k miles on my 13 eco so im gonna wait til 10-15k before i tune it just bcus i don't want to screw myself if something messes up. so am i correct in understanding i can run 87 octane in the t5 or do i need to specify that when i go to order? how is the t5 with recouping some mpg since im on 33's and now only get 14 on the highway and 13 around town? obviously mpg isnt my main concern and reason bcus it a truck... but it help save some cash...

Yes, you have to specify the lowest octane you want to run as that sets the floor on certain parameters in the tune. That said, you can run the 87 T5 with 91/93 octane and get another 20 HP so it is not like you are stuck with 87 octane. Most folks are reporting better MPG with T5 than stock if they keep their foot out of it.

I run the 91 octane version of T5, preliminary tests indicate I get around 21.9-22.0 mpg if I keep the speed to less than 68 mpg. At 75 mph it's more like 18.6-19.0
