Smile Mach-46

I opted for the Mach-46, on the group buy. I couldn't be happier with the sound....and it just gets better with a couple thousand miles on the muffler. Happy with it and a great product and price. go Solo!

You are correct about the MR400 not having drone, and i didn't intend to describe it that way. It was not drone i experienced while towing, just normal exhaust noise when loading up the engine, especially in the mountains between Tucson and the White Mountains. Some will really appreciate the deep growl, others (mostly significant others) will find it a little too much when towing and climbing.

I am really impressed with SOLO's j-pipe; even with the livlier MR400, the exhaust noise almost completely vanishes while at a steady cruise. Hard to get a good reading on any MPG improvement when you're constantly mashing the gas to listen to the exhaust. But i'll eventually settle down and see where it averages out.

Is the J-pipe connected to anything?

No, the J-Pipe is just an extra section of pipe that curves off the main exhaust near the flange. The end of the J-Pipe just has a cap on it. I've been told it traps sound waves inside of it, they don't need to escape, they just die in that little section of pipe.

There is a good picture of it on the solo-performance website.

Is everyone still happy with the mach46 muffler? The majority of the exhaust systems out seem too loud for my taste. I am thinking about the solo mach46 or corsa.

You may want to put the Stainless Works Chambered exhaust on the list.
