I'd like to know the same. Specifically,at what speed does your truck shift into 6th at light throttle?

I have the level5 tune and it shifts into 6th at 44 mph and looking for a shift strategy that would shift into 6th a bit sooner under light throttle.

JEEZ, what mph do you want to be in 6th? 44mph is pretty low to me. this is just an opinion but i would think you'd be lugging the motor WAY to much to be any less. Probably would loose fuel mileage unless you were coasting down a mountain.

Maybe it's just me but I don't think I would want it to shift to 6th any sooner. Actually 45ish is about right. Any sooner you could be lugging the engine, any later will hurt mpg. Just my opinion based off my 3.73s.

Some tunes, not necessarily Socal, have been set up to be in 6th at a hair over 40 on the speedo. Engine is lugged but doesn't feel bad. Shawn could set that up for you I'm sure.

I have 3:73 as well. I know stock and my Unleashed tunes shifted into 6 at 42 mph. This produced fantastic mileage when cruising on flat roads. No issues as the truck would downshift to 5 if needed. Have not driven my socal tune long enough to see whether there is a diff in fuel economy.

I'm telling you, the guys that are about to get these tunes are going to be impressed with the immediate turbo spool and acceleration. I'm going to coin this phrase as a description...

"Get Scared, Get SoCal". It is just that torque-y....I mean the turbos are spooled at the drop of a hat. You growl at this tune and it roars back.

My shifts strategy only adjusted for light throttle speeds. My preference has 6th gear shifting at 46 mph. Why I did that is it keeps the RPMs at about 1400 so if you give it light fuel the truck will stay in 6th and accerlate without shifting. I think stock will shift into 6th gear at about 40 mph. At that speed it is lugging to much IMO which will make the truck shift more often. We also raised the 3-4 and 4-5. Again I focused on keeping the RPMs around 1400-1500. The downshifts were adjusted a bit as well so that the truck was not hunting for the right gear at slower speeds. It is not for everyone but anyone that ran 5*, they will like this

With this shift strategy, I am getting about 19.5 mpg's around town driving. That is about 4 mpg's better than any other tune I have

On Shawn's L5 tune, the adjustments I asked for was to calm the 2-3 shift harshness down and then we raised the 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 shiftpoints a little at light throttle. We then also raised the 6-5, 5-4 and 4-3 downshifts a little as well. When I drive around at quarter throttle or less now, it shifts fast (not harsh) and feels stock. To me it is always in the right gear now at lower RPM.

Savage, for towing especially I think you might like the adjustments. Have Shawn apply this change to one of your tunes to try it out. Give it a few miles and see if you like. If you don't you can reload your previous tune.

And to think, I almost sold this SCT tuner. I've been running the stock tune for the last 2000 miles. Wonder if I'll feel a difference?

Now for some sleep. Visions of socal tunes, dancing in my head..........
You WILL feel a difference from the get go all the way to redline!
If you had a LMS tune it feels like their tune was "half-boost".

If anyone is on the verge.. or even thinking about it.. go ahead, you will REGRET it if you don't...
