It is not excuses because 13.8 is GOOD - no excuses needed. I will tell you why: 13.7 was ran on a 93 tune and on a truck with ligher wheels. Why do I keep mentioning wheels? Because that tire change which was a 16lb change dropped my quarter time by nearly half a second. So, they make a huge difference. If I am almost even with those differences - that says somethig

I get where you guys are coming from, definitely. I am not arguing - just explaining myself. I know for a fact that Shawn has better tunes. I have my only run and the dyno numbers. I am trying to articulate the fact that his tunes are better. However, I think it just comes down to the fact that people wont believe it until they try it.

If I were to run a 13.0 - people would still come back saying... well you now have lighter wheels, were running methanol, etc, etc.

I know its a better tune and that is good enough for me, so I guess I will just bow out on my comments until I have more times - but like I said, probably wont even matter then anyways.

Have you tried running without wheels to see what your times would be? lol

Yeah I cut two seconds.

Again, if it were just heads up race to see who can beat who regardless of what they have done, yeah... doesnt matter. But we are comparing one specific aspect so "all else must be constant" or stated as differences if there are any.

I, myself, do not see why this is so hard to comprehend . What everyone wants is a controlled lab test - aint going to happen. It comes down to this... people are wanting to just see the numbers and see which one is faster regardless of the differnces. That is lazy and ignorant if you are trying to gain insight into one particular mod.

I will just gut my truck, drop it to the ground, put forged 16" wheels on it, take out the 4wd and add slicks / traction bars, and add NOS. I will then put in the stock tune and be at the top of the leaderboard with "Stock tuned" in bold. Then, everyone will put their trucks back to stock believing that is the fastest tune LOL

Thats funny cause its true. Me personally, I think that times are over rated. I could care less if my pickup runs a 14.0 or a 13.8. I know a good tune when I drive one and Shawns tunes are damn good. I do however want to see some good times ran so that the people that base 80% of the tunes quality on a drag strip run can see that he can make a great fast tune. Weight and tires should be considered because that could be the difference of .2 tenths which would be the difference of a 13.6 or a 13.8 and the 13.6 would be respected more.

Once again, time is not as important as MPH. If I spin, time goes down but MPH usually about the same.

If you take the same truck, same config, same conditions and run 97mph then different tune runs 98, that's more power. But the difference in launch throw the faster slip to a lower trap...getting the launch takes a good track and good driver.

A good driver knows when he got the launch right from experience, especially with a lot of passes on the same truck.

I'm more interested in making a 100+ MPH trap than hitting one tenth faster. I know if I get it I can work the driving to get the time.

Also remember, the best times on the leader board were all in a lot better weather than July. If I can run a personal best in July, October /November is gonna be awesome.

I've only really worked with the race tune thus far. I like it, but most wouldn't like it on the street. It has very little street manners, just go, at the drop of a hat. Its what I asked for, and Shawn made it happen. Just like he would for any other.

I'll start working on my perf DD tune next.
