Stock tune verses custom tunes
This is not about any one tuner or tunes. I have had tunes from four different tuners plus what comes with the programmer. I was happy with two sets of tunes other than shifting on one. My truck did not like some of the tunes from others at all. After all of debate on different tunes it seems that all of these trucks like something different along with there owners.
What I'm getting at is two people can have the same box code and there truck respond completely different to the same tune. Any said tuner can make a tune for my truck that works perfect and on your truck it's glitchy to the point you can't drive it and they can't seem to get it right.
Some of us have trucks that have worked perfect from the time we bought them, others have trucks that have been nothing but a headache since they bought them. Some have fixed issues with custom tuning.
I think Ford should put flight recorders on some the problem trucks to data log what is going on when these trucks act up. I'm not talking about freeze frame on a scanner but the same info that is used by tuners to tweak a tune. Any thoughts?

Are you suggesting that Ford get involved with fixing issues on their trucks?
I sent a suggestion to Ashley that spark plugs should be looked at on every EB with possible condensation issues as some symptoms are similar and the 2011/12 models had many with out of spec plugs. My own plugs were out of spec and bad by 41000 miles on a 100,000 service item. If I hadn't told the dealer to swap the plugs they would have shrugged and said they can't do anything without a code.

Bingo if Ford data logged some of the bad trucks maybe they could find a real solution. I don't think it's all condensation. Where I live in the summer it can be thick fog for weeks at a time, humidity 100%. My truck and others have no issues, some do. What's different ?
