OK Please bare with me, (TOTAL noob with tunes)Stupid questions to follow.,,
Just how difficult will it be to learn how to do these tunes
I mean , just the way you guys are talking Logging ,t2 , t3 , t4 , 87 91 this and that" has me pretty much dumbfounded .
And you guys keep saying you have him send you this tune or that tune ,,, why don't you already have it??
What exactly is this live wire tune(besides $600)? I'm guessing its all the tunes rolled into one package? Do I really need or want that? I want better shifting, torque,HP,Top speed,MPG
Like I said guys I no NOTHING about tunes ,but for some reason I got the itch to get it

Boosted just added the Garret CAC, and at 22lbs+ my understanding that the immediate issue is heat soaking....if the heat soaking is better, maybe we'll see 24lbs on stock turbos.....at that I think that's the end of their usefulness.
Boosted is pushing his much harder than mine, but the Garrett is working wonders on my truck. Where I was seeing temps 60-70° above ambient on a third gear pull, I ran a log today and my intake temps were at a max of 111.20° at 87.80° ambient and 18psi.

I've seen intake temps as high as 133° at idle, but they nose dive as soon as air starts flowing over the intercooler.

Keep quoting prices & "special deals", we will close the thread. This Thread is for discussion of the tunes only. Not Product price.

The SCT 3015 is your basic programmer. It will hold up to 10 custom tunes as well as the SCT tunes that come with it.
The SCT Livewire has a display where you can monitor the parameters of your truck- such as boost, CAT temps, Air to Fuel ratio, coolant temp, etc

Look at the SCT page and compare the two programmers. http://www.sctflash.com/showallproducts.php

How many tunes do you need? It depends.
I use a Southern Speed (So Cal) T4 street tune for everyday driving. I have it in both 87 and 93 octane.
I use a T4 light tow tune to tow my Polaris RZR and other light tow jobs in two octanes.
Also have T4 heavy tow in two octanes.
If you want to drag race you could add the "standard" T4 or performance tune in different octanes.

How long to change between tunes? That's always a pet peeve of mine. Also I assume all sct tuners are the same so you can just buy one unlocked or new from anyone and then choose to buy tunes from someone like SoCal as well?

I would hope some basic price info would be ok. Seems the livernois tune thread has that in its first post.... There is obviously some background I don't understand.

Figured it was time to maybe start a fresh thread about Livernois Ecoboost tunes since the other one has gotten ridiculously long and many are having a hard time finding the information they want in it.. Just ordered mine from Rick yesterday and should ship out on Monday. Also ordered my AFE Stage 2 intake from Steve at AFE this past week and expecting it to ship on Friday.. I waited and waited to decide on which tune. Got excited when I saw release of SCT last week but then I saw the issues that already started right off the bat. That was enough to get me to pull the trigger on Livernois.. Also when talking with Rick yesterday he was informed that the MyCal device should hopefully be updated soon and will hold two custom tunes and the stock tune at the same time. This is a big plus especially for those who felt only having one custom tune at a time was the only negative about it. To me the best part of Livernois (besides the fact they have the most experience with ecoboost platforms) is that for the $599 price you have unlimited access to all the tunes whenever you want..Not having to pay for each individual tune like other places. Granted many love the SCT unit itself but for my application the MyCal device will be just fine.. Everyone has their own opinions and choice so to me there are no right or wrong tunes to go with but after reading all the positive feedback on Livernois for the past several months I don't doubt my decision for a minute..

that was an understandable reply and more then likly the same tunes i'll go for , minus the dragraceing one lol .(laymans terms )

Excuse my ignorance but why is it big deal if people are trying to help each other get some price numbers together?? There are tons of threads with people discussing prices? Why is this one a big deal all of the sudden?

I know you don't have the time to go through all of this thread but SoCal isn't a vendor on here anymore so we aren't able to discuss his prices anymore. Long story.
