Just got a tune from Shawn in my inbox, I am still pecking away at work and probably will be for most the night, when I get it loaded I will let you guys know how it runs. My truck had issues with the first round of tunes he had after a couple lengthy phone calls last week and talking over the datalog we are hoping it was just some corrupt files. Loading the T3 tune so if there is an issue this should show it, even though I am more of a "middle of the pack" type of tune guy (I want best around town not all out) and tow tunes, so if this work dial it back and some tow tunes and should be set.

Thanks Shawn for quick response tonight.

Good to hear. I am glad that you got your issues fixed and you got the tunes you wanted.

Hopefully fixed, we will see. If anything is strongest tune will be the one to test my truck, so far my truck has been pretty fussy with his tunes..

Great news though! I had some shifting issues with the Level 5, but the 91 T2 Street has been great. I will be hitting him up for an 89 and 91 Tow tune, plus the T3 update.
I recently tried a new 91 Street from another tuner, although good, it couldn't hold a candle to the T2. And it had a hard bang into third at WOT that I don't get anywhere in the T2.
Still may have to go back to the SCT 87 for the winter though.
Shawn did tell me he has some ideas for a winter tune. He's from New Hampshire among other places, so he knows the power has to come on gently.

Anyone ever hit a dyno and get tuned that way rather than mail order tunes?

I think Boosted Limited and other members of the SoCal development team have. But a dyno won't solve driving or safety issues.

A theme I seem to see is that socal tunes for the strict DD may not be as sound as the ***** to the walls perf tunes.

I want smoother/quicker shifting, better MPG and at least noticeably better performance ie. better accel and significant reduction in lag without the harshness associated with the BTTW tunes.

Does anyone have needs that match what I am looking for and if so, what has the journey been like - lots of headaches to an eventual solve, never a solve / still searching or hit the mark in the first or second try?

What say you??

Um my ***** to the wall shifts smooth and I have 2mpg better than before tuning! Why wouldn't you wanna DD that? Power and fuel economy! And my truck has 650 mi on it fuel economy will get better too.

Some (me included) don't like a touchy throttle pedal. I can push my pedal down about what, 4-5 inches (insert that's what she said joke here)? I don't need 100% throttle within the first 1/2 inch, let me use the whole skinny pedal. Plus, I use mine mostly for hauling my kids around, I don't want a ***** to the wall tune for just daily driving.. maybe in my younger years... (and i'm only 28...)
