Shreveport to San Antonio to Shreveport....17.9 mpg
Trip to San Antonio was 18.3 mpg. Coming home was 17.5. Mixed driving from 55-75 mph. My highway mpg seemed low though. 16.8 mpg @75 for roughly 100 mile test stretches with no stops. Truck is EB, 3.55 gear, 4x4 7000 miles. Do I need to check into whatever flash everyone is talking about?

For 75mph, 16.8 is realistic. Keep it under 60 and you will see great numbers. Ive seen 23.8 for over a hundred mile stretch going 60mph. The flash shouldnt change economy, only driving style will change that.

I know these trucks are touchy on mileage. I've tested several mph ranges for the best. On a 6-7 hour drive i'd rather go 75 than 60. I know that 75 isn't ideal for mpg but I posted the results because I've seen some ridiculous posts about 19-20 with cruise set at 75. I guess I need a tailwind and whatever hill they're driving down.

These truck's have a lot of wind drag over 70 mph. My truck get's great mileage if I can keep it in the 60 to 65 mph range which is hard to do on a 70 mph interstate. I can still get up to 19 mpg @65 mph with a 5.0 and 3.55's with 33's and leveled. Running 75 mph I'm down in the 16's. Flat highway's in Louisiana help too!

That mpg is about right for that trip. I have a Screw 4x4 EB with 3.55 and I just went from San Antonio to Houston and back this weekend. I went I-10 and got 18.6 going to Houston doing 70 Friday night. That stretch of I-10 is nothing but hills. When I got up the next morning to go to Plantersville, I reset my MPG guage. The south east part of Houston to Plantersville is about 90 miles but it is mostly flat. I did mostly 70 with a few 65 mph zones on the highways with a few stop lights and got 21.8. It's all about the hills. I got about the same mpg from Plantersville back to Houston later that day. Today, on my way back to San Antonio I got 17.7 doing 75-80 with nothing but hills.
The one good part about the EB is not once did it drop a gear or loose MPH going up those hills like most of the other cars on the road. My cruise control held a firm 75 accept for the 10 times I increased speed to pass heavy trucks a little faster. It was very funny and nice to see a few cars that just passed me on the flat leading to a hill loose speed and drop behind me going up the hill and the EB never even showed the slightest sign of stuggling or dropping speed. I heard a few Chevy, Ram, and other Ford trucks that had to drop a gear or two just so their cruise control could keep pace going up the hill. Or that is what I thought what was going on with all the noise their engines where making.
EDIT: I forgat to mention I just installed an Air Raid intake last Thursday so I might be getting a little better mpg then normal but not by much.

This confirmed for me that the truck can get good mpg so long as the turbos aren't spooled up.
