Shifts to 6th at 68.....always

I have the custom tune from Mike at 5 Star Tuning as well and I can't be more happy about it cause it made my truck 100% than it was when I drove it off the lot back in September!

My truck with 4.10's will not shift into 6th gear until 65-70 mph also. With T/H on it will shift into 6th at 45-48 mph. My dealer didn't/doesn't understand it either. I run a Livernois tune basically just for the shifting characteristics and a little bit for the power. I'm waiting for the new CAC and reflash to see if that helps the shifting. I drove about 5 ECOBoost trucks as loaners and 3 shifted into 6th around 50 mph and other 2 at 65-70 mph.

The CAC and reflash won't fix it, that is what they tried on mine. It did nothing to the late shifting.
I don't understand why some of these trucks are doing this when others aren't, AND, how Ford can call this normal!

Thats the ridiculous part. I understand things may not perform as expected in some cases, but to dismiss that issue as "Normal" is the big problem here. Good luck, but that just isn't acceptable.

Not normal. Have two Eco F150 units and depending on the throttle they can go into 6th after only 40 to 45mph. 68mph is a lot of gas wasted!

same here. while my first EB is still experiencing the misfire / shuddering issue, shifting early was never a problem. too early even sometimes !

It seems like this would be a lemon law issue. Someone needs to at least bring this up to Ford either thru the dealership or directly with the company. Ford reads these forums and knows what is going on out here. If enough pressure is applied they will find a fix for this. With the responses here that are a very small sampling this may be a bigger problem than we realize. I still think some are not even aware of this problem. Good luck to all of you.- John

Lemon law on my truck wouldn't do anything for me. I have 40,000+ miles on a 2011, by the time they depreciate it and charge me for the miles I would lose my **** on it. The aftermarket tuning takes care of it.
