Reading through this thread, those of you that added the 3" resonator how do you like it after? The exhaust is a little to loud for me and serious thinking about adding the resonator to quiet it a bit.

Just give it a week or two.I thought the same but now it doesn't bother me at all. It's a huge difference than what you were used to,so it seems overbearing at first,at least that's how it was for me.

I was just the opposite. The longer I drove it without the resonator, the less I liked it.

I installed the 3" MBRP and I still think it was the right choice. If I ever change my mind I can easily remove it. I kept the original 3" Roush piping, as I purchased new SS pipe for use with the resonator.

I plan on doing the same. I ordered the MBRP last night but I will be saving the roush pipe in case I want to change back or sell.

I love the sound of the exhaust outside of the truck but the noise while driving is just too much right now.

Just a warning. The MBRP isn't going to knock it down much...it will just take the edge off. It still really screams in the upper RPM's. It was enough to get it tolerable for me.

I feel like any drone I heard before is gone now. Seems to have mellowed out. Drove to work last week doing 70-80 mph and was surprised at how quiet it was. My only issue now is how loud it is at launch only because it seems like everyone wants a race! Might still order the resonator but I'm pretty happy with the sound now. No rush.

That's how I felt,it either quieted down or I got used to it.I was at the dealership the other day having my 3rd brake light replaced and the foreman got in my truck to pull it in the shop.He drove it in the bay put it in park and hit the gas about 3 times(first time I'd heard it from outside the truck..beast)he got out and said"dam I love your exhaust what is it"he owns a black fx4 with the 5.0.

I went ahead and added an additional Magnaflow muffler (14319) to my Roush setup. I took the Roush midpipe off and had my muffler guy weld the magnaflow to two 3 inch pipes. It may not be practical for everyone but I am very satisfied with the sound. The exhaust is still very much alive but I have absolutely zero drone in the cab.

Figured I would share if anyone was bothered by the excessive drone like I was.

I REALLY want this exhaust, but damn this 5.0 can put out some drone. I currently have the stock exhaust without the resonator and even with that setup I experienced a little bit of drone going through the mountains this weekend. after being the guy who had gutted cats and a flowmaster 40 series on my S10 years ago, and straight pipes on my mustang, I NEVER thought I'd ever be the guy complaining about exhaust........

i like that exhaust, but i prefer dual exhaust that comes out the side.. for some reason i have this fear of the tail pipes not lining up correctly.. the mbrp exhaust i have doesn't drone at all and sounds deep on the eco
