Resolution to "squealing noise"!!

Exhaust Manifold studs have a tendency to back out if not installed first, then gaskets, manifold and nuts. They usually walk out with the nuts grown onto them. When you look at the carbon track it shows the extreme heat of the manifold area glowing very red and weight of the turbo just moved/warped the exhaust manifold away from the head as the gasket burned and that last stud moved out when it cools down. I can see why the Engineers moved the manifold to part of its head in the 2.7L. If you have a condition of extreme heat you have this area of manifold blow out/warping.

Thank you so much for posting this. Mine has developed the same problem. It is intermittent and usually happens after it has been parked after a few minutes. In fact it happened tonight. I thought perhaps it was just something I hadn't noticed before. I'm taking mine to the dealer for the rear window replacement for a defective rear defroster (who in the hell engineers that problem). I'm going to have them check it out. Thanks again!

I wish I would have really looked after I got the manifold and turbo back on to see if it could be seen easily where the leak was. But, if you can pull the inner fender well back far enough or have them remove it, you may be able to see evidence "soot" by the back port of the driver side head without needing to pull all the parts off.

Hey Kittrel, was it just the drivers side? I am having the same chirping when you push the pedal hard in colder temps.
Did you inspect the passenger side?
Mine sounds like it is coming from the drivers side too.
Once the weather warms up in a couple of weeks I am going to pull the inner fender and have a good peek in there to see if I can see any Carbon soot build up and or stick a feeler gauge between the gasket and manifold.
How much time did it take you to do the repair and was it a messy job removing the oil and coolant lines?

I just experienced the same issue. Confirmed exhaust manifold leak. Dealer covered it under my Premium CARE ESP. Link to my story --> https://www.f150forum.com/f38/ecoboo...ration-393112/
