Nice video. Shift strategy could use some work.

I love how they compare a 6.2L V8 Chevy against inferior set ups for FORD and NISSAN. Do any of these idiots get it. Compare the CHEVY 6.2L V8 against the F150 6.2L V8,, wouldn't that be a true comparison. Why are these so called auto experts so dumb!! Guess they were getting paid by GM to show there truck and it still got it *** kicked by the Ecoboost up the hill.

Because the 3.5TT is the best gasser Towing motor ford has... It will do a better job that the 6.2l ford... Thats why they did it.

I'm gonna disagree with you on that. What makes a motor the best for towing? Speed up the ike gauntlet? How many years it can tow how much how fast? Gas mileage towing? Braking?

The Ike gauntlet favors forced induction which is clear. But the best 1/2 ton for towing involves a hell of a lot more than getting over loveland pass (which all the trucks did).

They could have manually shifted the Chevy and pulled a much better time. In fact, and I've towed a lot, most guys would have stopped the yo-yoing much earlier. The ford's 6-speed is setup way better than the chevy based on the video.

TQ down low like a diesel for start? Even on flat land the Eboost makes more tq down low than either the ford 6.2 or the chevy 6.2. Peak HP/TQ numbers dont mean crap in the real world. All Peak HP/TQ numbers do is sell engines to Fan Boys that dont know what there looking at.

Either 6.2l engine only makes more power than the Eboost for a very narrow window in the RPM band. And this window is in the upper RPM. Which is fine if you like that sort of thing.

But it is still not comparing similar engine size and models against one another. Heck I got MaxTow EB 3.73 but to even compare my truck to a 6.2L Ford V8 or even the Chevy is stupid. Ford created a V6 engine that can tow, compare that to a Chevy V6 whatever they got and there you go. I disagree with these auto idiots when they do comparisons. Bring the Same size engine, same box length, same gear ratio (or as close as you can) and then go out and compare. I keep seeing these TLtruck guys doing stupid *** comparisons and there always slanted to one brand.

This thread is gonna get ugly.

Different people gauge how their trucks tow differently, and what they like is not what someone else likes when it comes to towing.

For instance, I hate a truck that constantly downshifts to make power while towing...like the 6.2. Sure it tows it and does a good job...but I hate the downshifting its an annoyance to me. Its not necessarily bad or makes it inferior for towing...personally it just annoys me. I was considering an F-250 with the 6.2 before buying my Eco as my Dad has one. I towed with his for 150 miles and the following week drove an Eco all week and towed with it. As far as holding gears while towing and not constantly downshifting...the Eco is superior to the 6.2 in that regard. That was the deciding factor for me...not engine braking, mileage, etc etc. Purely ability to hold gears while towing.

Both are good motors but for MY criteria, I chose the Eco.

If engine braking or mileage while towing were more important to me, I would have probably gone with the 6.2 but I don't care about those criteria.

Thats not the intent of this engine.... Fords intent is that it can do the job of a v8 while being a v6. Putting it against other v6's is just silly.

The shoot out is for each manufacturer to bring there best towing truck to see how they compare. Fords best towing truck is the eboost. thats why they are comparing it.

Number of cylinders doesnt really mean anything. its about the power then engine makes.
