Has anybody who had the new timing belt install experienced poor MPG? had mine done 6 months ago with 34,000 mile on engine. I have 44,000 now. I have lost about 2-3 mpg. I have stock tire on the truck. have done nothing else, no lift ...etc.

This is a $3k job to get the cam phasers and timing chain done. Both items need replaced. This is a fairly intensive job. Honestly, trade the truck in and get a non-ecoboost.

I spoke with four Ford dealers about my truck. No Ford dealer I spoke with said they could do it under emissions. The parts numbers are linked to the powertrain warranty. If anyone has had the repair done under 80k emissions I would love to hear it, would save me money. I think there are two emissions warranties on the vehicle. One runs concurrently with powertrain. The 80k one only applies to specific parts. None of which are included in this repair. It is possible CA emissions rules are strict enough you might have luck in CA,but I wouldn't hold my breath.

This is what I found. I would love for it to be covered. When I first called the dealer I was at 60,500. The only emissions warranty past 60k is the "certain emissions parts". I didn't see any of the tsb parts on the list of covered parts.

Right- the phasers are the culprit of the rattle. You need the dealer to replace those and put new timing chains in again.
The rattling phasers are the root cause... once they rattle, they have stretched the timing chain.
