Ask dodge owners about their transmission issues, for example.
I personally wouldn't let this throw me off Ford. Stuff like this happens. And these motors have only been in trucks for a few years. They're bound to have problems.
Sorry I don't buy that. I am an engineer and can see that this was a defective design that wasn't tested properly. And then to issue a TSB to only fix trucks that exhibit a warning to save money. This should have been a recall to fix ALL trucks with the defective parts or at least notify owners. Ford only backs off on problems and pays up when legal implications pile up. It was the same with the V6 head gasket issue.

I never seem to learn that you get what you pay for. Dodge is a classic example of that.

my 2012 did it last month only had 39k miles on it. The dealer fixed it right away and it was covered by warranty. Don't worry about it, if it is still under warranty they will fix it.

Went through the same denial BS with my 1995 Windstar defective headgaskets 20 years ago, obviously Ford still sings the same crap. Never again..
Sounds like you have a shady dealership...

An auto recall occurs when a manufacturer (or the NHTSA) determines that a car model (or several models) has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal safety standard.

Thank you haha, drives me crazy seeing recall this recall that, recalls are only issued for safety defects!

As far as how prevalent it is...I have 5 buddies with Ecoboost trucks, myself makes 6. 3 out of 6 trucks have the issue. Still a small sample size, but to me that's a lot. One is an '11, one is a '12, one is a '14

Yes, it would not be a recall. But Ford could earn some good will by extending the warranty for that specific failure condition to something like 10yr/100,000mi. Other manufacturers have done that kind of thing. I have a 2014 Tremor, but only 19,000 miles on it. I only know one other person who has a 3.5EB F-150, and it's a 2013 with 50,000 miles. No problems for either of us in this regard.

Mine just did it twice. Sunday morning and yesterday morning. I pulled out my phone to record it this morning, and not a peep.

I will get a video and take it to the dealership. My 14 Tremor has 34,600 miles on it, so I'm still covered by the bumper to bumper and the powertrain warranty.

You don't need a video. The TSB clearly states only the customer needs to hear it for the repairs to be approved. If your dealer gives you a hard time find a new one.
I just got my truck back last week. Took 2 days. Dealer was great about it.

I saw that, but want to have all aspects covered just in case. The dealership is about 5 minutes from my house. The next closest is probably 30 minutes into houston. I'd rather not have to deal with messing with houston traffic if I don't have to, so I just want to be able to show them the problem.

What is the correct updated TSB number? I saw a couple in here, but not sure which one is right.
