I made it 788 miles at an average of 20 mpg. I hand calculated the run. It was accurate. You called me a liar and said it was invalid as it didn’t meet your 1,000 mile criteria. I never said I got it in town and you never said city / highway driving. I never said I got it towing either. If you would notice in the provided image I averaged 63.5 mph. That alone should have told your edjucatedass I was on the freaking highway. My original statement on this thread was about running fairly flat and 65 mph. Now unless they have some freakin’ insane speed limits in your town…..well I don’t know how else to explain it to you

Congrats. You kick a$s...

See boys and girls.. that wasnt so bad was it? The diff between me and a "troll" (that label is too funny btw) is that ill take the beating when deserved... true "trolls" do as you say and spout off at the keyboard in an attempt to prove a point that has been proved invalid time and time again.... yet they continue.
What they also do is label people as not knowing ANYTHING about a topic due to one mistake that may have been made regarding a somewhat indirect topic. (you on me about the remote start issue).
So now i ask...... how far will you push your point and who is the troll?
The troll comment was an observation on how this thread was turning sour, and your entertainment reference. I withdraw it.

The poll results show the eb with 40% over the 5.0 however there are VERY FEW posting from actual EB owners at this point. Current EB drivers please post up your actual MPGs. I ordered at EB Lariat with 3.73 but initial results are proving the 5.0 be the choice for MPG, which is what I am after. At an additional 750 to get teh EB not sure it is worth it. I may have to order a different truck. I would like to see the EB in high teen low 20s but it looks like the 5.0 is doing that already. At least I am not committed to my order and deposit is refundable....
I make it a game to try and get as high a mileage from it as possible and have gotten as high as 25.6 on a 50 mile trip. I average 16 now.
Still looking to get a better idea from a longer trip but I have to stop racing on the frontage road where the High School is..Fun but stupid...

Predictable
I have a 2011, 2 wheel drive, super crew, 5.5 bed, with 3:73 gears and a 5.0. I use full synthetic oil and my current total mileage is almost 17,000. Probably 95% of the time a tank will average between 18.5 and 19.5 mpg. My driving is a mix of city and backroads, some but little interstate. If I can keep an average like that, I'll be happy!

I have a 5.0 with 3.73 rear end. I have 20k miles on it now. I drive from okc to Houston TX and avg 23.7 with cruise set at 68. I went from okc to Hutchinson KS and avg 24.4 that trip but was only going between 60 and 65. Ill admit I babied it heavily that trip but I was shocked to see how much gas I still had in the tank.

I imagine that the OP has more miles on whichever truck he decided to get by now as this thread is over a year old now. However, I'll play.
I have a 2012 FX4 ecoboost Screwcab with 3.73. I drive 75 miles daily into Wash DC in stop and go traffic 75% of the time. My average so far is 17.8 mpg with 3400 miles driven. This average is based off the trucks computer. My hand calculations actually show 17.6, but I'm just a dumb army guy so what do I know. My friend at work has a 2012 5.0, 3.73 Screw - and he states he is getting just under 16mpg driving roughly the same route. He only has about 2100 miles on it so far.

That's the same i saw in good conditions - 20+ on unloaded 65 MPH rolling hills with a 3.73 Ecoboost. In North Dakota it was 17 MPG at 75 MPH.
12 MPG towing a 8,000 pound RV, 14 MPG towing a 10,000 pound tractor. Aerodynamics are WAY better on the tractor.
