When I spoke with the dealer's SM, he said that there are no codes and due to what I explained in this thread, there really is nothing more to troubleshoot.
I know once my PT warranty is up 11/1/18, I won't pursue for sure.
Maybe change tranny fluid?
the old question, flush vs filter.

Cannot say that i blame you.... sorry to say. I had a couple of experiences similar with my '03 and at a Ford Dealer to add to it, they asked me when was the last time i checked the trans fluid, i told them i didn't since i bring it to them every 3k for an oil change and that its supposed to be part of it, told me my transfer case was over full and seal between trans and case was leaking and needed replacing at a tune of 5-600$, i told them I'd watch it and decide if i wanted to spend the $$, it was then that i found out that i was being taken since i never had an issue with overfull again... reported it to the Owner. That was the end of that mechanic.
Second time a few months later they told me my differential cover was rusted, leaking and needed replacing, another 100 or so for thet, i told them just to sell me the gasket and limited slip oil and I'd change it myself. Well..... upon attempting to replace it i discovered the bolts were loose causing the leak, tightened them , cleaned the oil off and guess what? Yep no leaks, told the owner of that incident (same dealer) next time i went back he replaced the entire service crew, and I did discover that they got some sort of commission for service work, not sure if that policy remains or not but no issues since.
No need on our part to feel guilty about checking their work, its just to bad we're put into that atmosphere of having to ? it in the 1st place.
