And people missed the point of the last sentence in Biff's starting thread. Lol. Well played. It's still not goin to stop the onslaught of "WHY DID MY MPG GO DOWN?!?" threads. Nice try though.

without duplicates of triplicates of threads that have already been discussed 259 times, this forum would die. This thread wont change anything, but nice try anyway

(and yes, remote start is a bitch on mpg )

How about the winter blend which always causes. Bad economy in winter? Especially in cold , it's not the remote starting

err, yeah, remote start does hit the mpg like a SOB, on top of winter blend gas of course... 10 minutes at 0MPG + say 10 minutes of driving at 13-14 mpg, that's 6.5-7 mpg average for your drive to work...
sure if you remote start it for 10min, and drive for 10 hrs, you won't see the effect, but for short commuting trips, hell yeah!

(oh, by the way, in case you missed it, I think this thread was started by a very sarcastic man )

At least some people figured it out. Not sure how many more clues would have been needed for the rest.

I just experienced the same thing on my 5.0....went from 14-15 mpg to 11-12 suddenly. I knew remote start burned a lot of fuel, but i didnt think THAT much. Anyway, thanks for this thread and to the people pointing out remote start was the culprit, was starting to think there was something wrong with my car.

psssttt, you got a truck, not a "car"

well that thread meant to be a joke turned out to be more informative than 95% of other mileage threads then

You are thinking of it wrong it's not going to go off of minutes per mile.

I've gone form 17.2 to 16.8 according to the dash since the cold has sent in and I started using the remote start.
I drive 15 miles to work.

Yeah, force of habit...I took a break from trucks and had 2 cars inbetween now and my last F150, still keep calling it a "car" (obviously).

I usually refer to it as a "rig" to make fun of cliche truck people.
