So heres my current situation... My EB recently received a heart transplant under warranty (@ 60k miles) about 3 months ago. Block, both heads, and driverside turbo. I dropped it off for the timing chain issue (VCT solenoid was bad) and ford ESP requested the Ford techs to check my cams for improper wear and to check the oil filter for metal debris. Boom, bad wear on one cam lobe and metal in the filter. Connecting rod bearing had gone out. While it was being looked into they decided to look at the turbo and noticed I had a seal on its way out. I now have a 2yr unlimited mileage warranty on the turbo and engine.
Truck was never tuned, only exhaust and S&B intake.

So here I am still with an itch for more (tune)... What is you guys opinion? Should I tune or no? I'm not looking to race, just more power and tire calibration (295/60/20). Something safe and but reliable.

i want to say your playing on a fine line, but I have a 5.0 she got a short block that i've put 18k miles on ( block at 25K sitting at 43K now) i just tuned on black friday this year with 5*. i felt fine with tune as i had put almost 20k miles on rebuild and motors felt more "together" since i got her back. so id say tune after you've gotten another 5k or so on it.

hope this helps,

-B

For safe and reliable, I would go with 5 Star. You can even buy a warranty with 5 Star tunes.

I noticed their warranty options. Do you happen to know how their warranties work?

It would be nice if the tuners could get their hands on the Raptor (450hp,510tq) or the GT's (600hp, 500tq), tunes.

There's either a 60k or 100k mile warranty, it goes until you hit 60 or 100k on your odometer. So if you have 40k on the odometer you have 20k miles of warranty left if you get the 60k one...

What good would that do? Engines are totally different from the regular Ecos no?

What kind of MPG improvements is everyone seeing with their tunes? My '14 eco with 3.73 gear is only getting me 13-15mpg and I'm looking for someway to improve that.

None really, but that's just because it's so hard not to get on the peddle when running a tune. Too much fun!

Default tuner questions?

Dumb question, but, do the FORSCAN mods you can make do the same thing that an aftermarket tuner such as an Edge tuner? Or does this augment?
