Default No more Fords for me

I have a 2013 Lariat with the 5.0 and the engine died at 11,900 miles. It was towed in to the dealer on 11/25/13. Ford took 30 days to approve a new engine and the truck is still at the dealer. The dealer even damaged my truck by backing an F450 in my rear bumper. Ford's customer service is a joke. I'm tired of making payments on the truck that is in the shop. I already paid 2 payments and the third one is coming due soon. Since all the Ford dealers around me is hard to deal with and Ford's customer service being nonexistent I will never own another Ford product. Sorry for the rant but after I dropped $40k for a new truck and having problems like this I'm a little upset.

Sorry to hear that. Judging from your previous post I wouldn't call you a troll as some might and was on my mind when I first read from someone having only 7 posts. Keep in mind that you will have your bad ones out of the bunch, but I bet Fords lack of response is probably what did you in along with the dealers incompetence. I hope you get a truck you will be happy with.

Don't blame you for being Pissed! Stinks that you have to wait so long, when it rains-it usually pours...

What did they find as the root cause of failure in the engine?

Sounds like both the dealer and factory have been giving you the runaround if it took 30 days to OK a replacement motor. I would do the same as you in your situation. Customer service is something people talk about after they have failed to provide it. Good Luck.

Sad to hear that your truck couldn't even make it out of the break in period. If Ford would spend the money they waste on adverstising into there QC and Quality product they wouldn't need to advertise,, the cars/trucks would sell themselves. Wish you well in your effort to get your truck and move on.

I wonder how much human error is involved in getting this resolved faster? You know when someone drops the ball in the chain of resolution? I know we all have had experiences maybe not all autos but that really disappointed us on customer service. I agree with the op that will give you a change of heart fast. Good luck and best wishes to you in the future hope all works out for the better for you.

Sounds to me like your local dealer sat on his hands about the issue. If they take 3 weeks to submit the paperwork to Ford...Ford can't approve it until after the dealer requests it. The fact that it isn't done yet says the dealer does not consider you to be a high priority.

I would reach out to Ford and complain about the lack of service you have received. It may not help but it certainly will not hurt.

Go that way if you wish. Even the customer service folks here have made it very clear that Ford has no control over the dealers and they are free to treat you however they like with no reprisal from Ford.........
