I haven't had to deal with Ford's corporate office, but I do know that GM's was GREAT with issues like this when it came to my SS.

---I didn't buy another Chevy because of my local dealer...absolutely worthless. My Ford dealerships here aren't much better though.

Go that way if you wish. Even the customer service folks here have made it very clear that Ford has no control over the dealers and they are free to treat you however they like with no reprisal from Ford.........[/QUOTE]

Sounds like someone has walked you down the wrong trail. When I was having issues with my old truck, last year, and I wasn't getting the response out of the dealer I was using, I contacted Ford Corporate, and was recommended to a different dealer. The second dealer had full knowledge of my complaint with the original dealer and provided excellent service. Ford corporate does monitor customer satisfaction by dealer and corporate calls.

I had troubles with my 2011 fx4 and got no where with my dealer and Ford Corp was not any better. both a bunch of BS. I would talk to one who said they talked to the other and it was a vicious cycle. I got sick of it and no I now have a 13... wish I would have not jumped the gun and looked at other brands a little more. tired of Ford's BS!!!

I don't buy Ford has no control over dealers. That's all you hear at dealer when it comes to warranty work, there at the mercy of FORD corporate to do any work, so you telling me FORD doesn't set a STD of CS at there dealers..So much for BlueOval Service and crap..This is my 3rd Ford truck,,If I have any issues with my 14, it will be my last Ford I can guarantee that. I'll give another brand a try..Either Ram/Tundra.not Govt Motors..Who knows maybe the new Nissan Titan with the Cummins diesel,,real interested on what that will do..

Things must be different down there. Here in Canada, we get surveys in the mail to be filled out after service. If they don't do well on the surveys, they get penalized monetarily.

I did not make it up. The customer service rep on this site has stated it to me repeatedly. If you have an issue with it I suggest you contact her.....

I want to jump in here and do what I can to help, Eric5.0. PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership so I can get to work on this.

Thanks!

Eric, not doubting your post. But, could you give a bit more info. as I have a 5.0L also and would like to know if it's something I may need to look out for, ex. what broke, was the engine tuned, under stress etc. TIA

+1. I'd like to know too.

Also, hate to hear that about the service. Hopefully I'll never have to deal with it. They should at least give you a loaner and not some stripped XL V6. The same truck you have.

Sorry it took so long to reply. The chain tensioner broke and a chain went inside the engine. Ford has also made it clear the dealer can do or treat people anyway and Ford won't do or say anything about it. Eric
