I returned the truck back to stock and it seemed to remedy the issues, although when I started the truck up after returning it to the stock tune, the truck started kind of rough and had a rough idle for about a minute then it smoothed out. I let the truck idle for about 5 minutes and it idled just fine. So, I'm wondering if there might be a glitch in the tune, because I ran the tune for about two weeks without any issues until yesterday.

The main reason not to tow on the perf tune is to save the cats. They can get cooked from the more aggressive tuning, -Per Livernois

For a question for you guys. I am running the 93 perf tune. Planning a trip to myrtle beach next month and a friend asked if I could pull a 5x8 uhaul with it total weight of around 1000lbs or less.
You think it's safe to leave the perf tune or switch it to the tow tune??

Keepin' the lights on!
I could see the cats being the issue when towing with a performance tune. With the cats removed I think the issue would be melting a piston. In the diesel world, you'll melt a piston before you cook a turbo.

Would cooking the cats be caused by excessive rpm's to get the load moving or the increased boost pressure?

Hello, new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has the tune on a truck at altitude? I'm in Denver and we are missing some oxygen here. 91 is the only fuel available here, although I do own a gas station and we carry 100 octane no lead as we are close to Bandimere speedway. Is the 93 tune that much better than the 91 tune as for me to mix some 100 with 91 to get there? Any info would be appreciated.
Everything runs great. The Turbos can make up a lot for altitude.
The 87 has slightly more power but it is way more pleasurable to drive with the improved low end and shift points.
The 91 runs like a bat out of hell. I can only imagine what the 93 must feel like.
Get one! You won't regret it except maybe paying for 91 all the time :-)

On sledding trips I go from 1700ft all the way to about 7kft or higher by the end of the trip. The nice thing about forced induction engines is that they do not lose the power like you see in NA engines. I have not had any issues at elevation towing with my truck at that elevation so I would think unloaded you should be fine.
