Default Used tuner

I am looking at buying a tuner and found a used Livernois. I called and talked to someone at Livernois yesterday and he said that the tuner can't be used on a different truck even if the orginal truck was set back to stock. Said that it is married to the first truck. We have a tuner on a diesel truck and bought it used and it worked fine as long as it was returned to stock but maybe the Livernois is set up different. Has anyone had any experience with this? Truck is a 2011 Ecoboost

This is not true, i have a 2011 EB as well and Rick was extreamly helpful and got me back tunes for my truck ASAP. All he needs is some basic info and he can set it up for you. If you can find a cheap used tuner like i did id say dont let that deal slip through your hands, pick it up! Then call, email, or PM Rick and he will take care of you.

Hey everyone, im new to this and my ecoboost is only 3 months old 2012 FX4 SCREW. I am really wanting to get this tuner just hesitant because i dont want to have any issues down the road if i would need warranty work done. Anyone give me some peace of mind or insight on this issue and if i should worry about having the tuner and getting things fixed from dealer, do i just reload stock settings if i would have to go in for a fix??

Thanks in advance

Get the tuner and smile from ear to ear. It's very very hard for a dealer to find the tuner on a truck.

Get it trust us. It's great. Warranty work or any dealer visit put it back to stock a few days before. Only thing that may show up is a code saying the battery was disconnected. You will be fine!

Thanks guys, i should have read a little more before posting has anyone had experience doing any heavy towing with either the 87 or 93 tow tune?? Thoughts? Im just so pumped to get this tune, the truck stock is pretty sick, cant imagine what its gonna be like afterwards. another ?, you plug it into the obd reader, set the tune, then unplug it and go?? I also dont really plan on doing any other mods, the tune should be sufficient for my needs?

Last year I towed my 8000lb camper 2500 miles using the LMS 87 and 93 tow tunes and they are great. I've been tuned by LMS for almost 15000 miles and not a single hiccup. Best money I spent. I also got their 170 tstat and had the tunes updated for it and it definitely helps. The 93 perf v2 tune still blows me away at how powerful and smooth it is.

I tow an 8500-9000 lb fiver, first with the 87 tow tune and then the 89 tow tune for over 3000 miles. My best mileage was with the 89 tow tune (11mpg) with premium fuel, so I've changed from 87 tow/perf and 89 tow/perf to 87 perf, 89 tow/perf and 91 tow. I am thinking the 91 tow might yield the best mpg yet, but have to wait until the spring to see. I run the 87 perf all winter, then I'll switch to the 89 or 91 tow tunes for spring, summer and fall. I will probably use the 91 tow tune for towing and an 89 tune for any long spells in between to keep fuel costs down.
The only time I've found premium gas beneficial is when towing and it does improve mileage for that.

These trucks should NOT have been built without the Livernois tuner !!!!!!!!!! Just plain awesome !!!! I bought my truck from a dealer with an excellent service manager and a great service department ( yes, I know these are hard to find). I'm sure my service manager will work with me should something happen but, really what are the odds of that ??????
