Do you have an F150? If so, then you know that the instant mpg is a green solid bar that moves up and down relative to this line, the avg mpg, as it clearly articulates to the right of the line. I was parked at my final destination when I took this. Look, I really don't care if you believe it or not, as I'm the one that reaps the benefit of owning a great engine. Oh, and the filling of one's tank is irrelevant so long as the press and hold to reset was not pressed to reset the avg. Average is calculated by miles traveled divided by gallons consumed, independent of fill-ups, which by the way, I don't have to do that often.
Your instant screen means nothing. Your trip logs the miles traveled and average mpg. That's the real truthful screen.
I never suggested you were lying, you took it that way, but I can take a pic of 55mpg on that screen and there's no miles to prove otherwise. That's my point. That screen doesn't show miles driven at that mpg.
It can be manipulated either way, so do/don't take the pic, idc. And, yes, I do own a '12 EB FX4.

Heavy foot = low milage. Put up the fuel efficiency gauge, and see the affect of your technique. My mpg had improved with some behavior modification.
Also, I put a tonneau cover on, and it had a shockingly good impact on mpg. Highway driving, I I'm getting an average of 27mpg. Your results may vary, but the covert is paying for itself pretty quick. Bigger impact on highway than surface roads, but the overall average is up by about 10%, which is as advertised.

You begin here...
Then you press down ONE time, then "ok"
Here you see my single tank miles driven and mpg
Here you see my oil life trip, many more miles, still pretty darn average.
Notice how this isn't my instant screen, also note the miles driven... Thus a proven read.
I hope this isn't too much for you to consume in 1 post

So, let's be honest,, what it really comes down to is driving style and terrain traveled... miles traveled and screen selection pics are what are useless and meaningless. My 15 mile commute in an area where elevation changes are measured in hundreds of feet is far different a variable than that of the same mileage commute in Florida.
So, instead of backbiting and bickering over trust issues, lets try to help each other with tips we've seen help improve our mpg...the reason I joined this forum. My tip is to reset the instant/avg screen at the start if every long trip as it forces me to focus on my driving style and habits.

What you really mean is that it means nothing to someone who is skeptical about the posts on this forum. I clearly articulated that this screen was reflecting my trip of 200 miles, 186 to be exact. The trip screen, had I reset that at the commencement of my trip would have also displayed that.

We wanted to see miles traveled to achieve claimed mpg. THATS the point!
You, sir, are wrong.
My pics display the miles and mpg, so just showing average mpg alone doesn't mean anything. I can reset it and coast down a big *** hill and have it read 50mpg, you wouldn't be able to call my bluff because I didn't prove how far I went on that average.
Think before posting, don't embarrass yourself.
