New Member, EB bad gas mpg

I just brought my 5.0 f150 in for a couple TSB's and I asked them about the EB mpg. They said they are seeing 1 mpg better on average. I have a cat back magnaflow Air Raid CAI and SCT programmer with a 6" lift and 305/65/18 and average about 15 mpg with mixed higway and in town driving. I say forget the EB until they improve on it a little more and iron out the kinks. It has the potential, just not there yet.

Results may vary.. I've owned my Ecoboost since April 2011 and haven't had any issues at all. As far as power goes, it blows away any 1/2 ton Ford truck I've driven in the last 30 years and I've driven a few 5.0's old and new.

I've had my ECO for just over a year with very few problems. You definitely have to go easy on the throttle if you want good mileage. It is easy to see the dropoff when driving her for fun.

Update
I now have over 1800 miles on the truck, and I am averaging 13.1 mpg 90/10 city/hwy. I am not a spirited driving at all. I am getting the oil changed next week, and bring up this mpg issue . Ill let you guys know what they tell me.

I agree. City driving murders the MPG of these trucks. No real surprise there. Accelerating a 6000lb truck from a dead stop makes it tough to keep the turbo's off without pissing off the traffic too much. Plus, going too slow almost ensures you will catch the next light.
I took a 1 hour trip over christmas. Mostly highway @ 50 MPH (kid was asleep, so no hurry to get to the destination). I reset the trip meter before leaving. It showed 24 mpg until I got to town. Once I caught the first stoplight, it dropped to 22. The next stoplight dropped it to 19 for the trip average. So, two stoplights can drop the average mpg by 5 over a 50 mile trip. This isn't flooring it, either. Slightly slower than the rest of the traffic, but not too slow. RPMs on acceleration getting to about 1700 before each shift at most I'd guess.

2018 F150 Platinum FX4
Hey guys i recently just bought a 2013 F150. I have 201 miles on the clock, got it with 8.8 miles, im averaging 12 mpg with normal city driving. Is this because the engine is still in the break-in period. When you guys got your truck new did you experiance the same issue. I was reading that mpg goes up after 1000k, but i havent seen the mpg this low on previous posts. Im sure its been asked before, but if i could get some imput that would be great.

I actually made this observation to my wife today about the comments I've seen on the forum. I know the same goes for just about every vehicle forum out there. Jeez...what a bunch of whiners!
I knew what I was getting into when i bought the thing! If you want 30mpg + go buy a Prius! You bitch and moan about gear ratios and towing ability and don't acknowledge the fact that these trucks, be it 6 cyl or 8 cyl are amazing and do their jobs so well. I switched from a Nissan Titan and my wife and I can't be more impressed with our new S-Crew ecoboost!
I know I'll get all the normal, "ugh my Internet opinions has so much weight in life" type posts but damn...grow up "men", the trucks kick *** in v8 and v6 form! Yes, there's lemons out there but for me....I am truly convinced of their ability to be awesome trucks that last a LONG time.
Note: my other experience e with for is that my father in law has 2 of the old school models tearing it up at his east coast farm.

If you have nothing to add to this thread but a load of BS machismo, move on.
