These trucks...notably with 3.73's do not like higher than 75 mph. In fact I think to have a chance at 20 mpg I need to stay at upper 60's mph or lower. Upper 70's to 80 mph and I get 14-17 mpg depending on temp, wind, etc.

These trucks do break in some...you really gonna judge the mileage after 800 miles?

Yes, these trucks do turn 2000 rpm at upper 70's mph with 3.73 gears...point?

These trucks have the potential of returning good numbers. I have seen 24 mpg at 57 mph prolonged trip, 22 mpg at about 62 mph prolonged trip. 65 mph is about top speed for ok mileage.

I'm just sick of people coming on here and saying they're mpg sucks...with no mention of what the weather conditions were like, etc. I pay attention to all of this stuff. And even with my trucks misfire/condensation issues I still get better mpgs than all these people? I so wish I could drive half of these peoples trucks and see what happens. I don't doubt that some could potentially have major issues...but so many?
i don t buy it it for economy but for work.but the thing is the publicity are wrong and then it s very bad for FORD

Yeah, I don't believe that mileage, probably reset it a few miles before taking the pic.

It's 50/50 hills/flat here and I can't get 18mpg with my cruise set at 65 for any lengthy period of time. I always run 87 octane pure gas, and set my cruise every chance I get.

Also, I'm in Iowa, so no mountains or hills that exceed 2% incline.

Plus, my truck is identical. <10k miles, Screw FX4, ecoboost, 3.73 rear end, stock tires... Unless green = increased mileage, it's fake.

Why would I fabricate a photo for this forum-Jesus calm down. It's a real photo, and the shot your seeing is accurate.

By real screen, I mean the trip screens, not the instant.

X2

I want to see that mpg with some realistic miles, in the trip screen.

I bet that's with less than 30 miles. I can do that too, but it will drop to normal aver the life of the tank.

So, let's see the trip screen.

"completely honest?" ...1st of all, it is no benefit to me whatsoever, for my gas mileage to suck. none. This is my 5th F150 lariat, 4x4, Supercrew, 3.73 rear end, 6.5' bed since 2004. That is 5 in 9 years. Think the low that day was 50 and the high was 75. The wind was blowing from the west as I recall about 10 mph. That would hurt me going, help me coming home (for the most part.) I believe I could get better mileage driving 55 mph on the interstate, if I could avoid getting run over. Alas, I have no desire to drive 55 on the interstate. none. I was content with my 5.4 liter gas mileage running 75-80 mph on the interstate.

I do think I could get my Instant MPG to read 24 mpg going down a hill after a reset, too. Thanks for defending the Ford emblem, but, I am ford guy, and I am telling you my mileage sucks in this ecoboost. FYI, I am now over a 1000 miles...getting better but still sucks compared to my 5.4 liter that wasn't exactly a "green" eco engine
