My 2011 Ecoboost CC vs. 2013 Tundra Crewmax 5.7
#71
I've raced a 5.0 and I've raced a tundra... Hell actually I've raced everything but a dodge(well 1/2 ton anyway) and I can easily say that between a 5.0 and a 5.7 tundra both being set up equally the 5.7 should have it all day.
and yes! My eco is superior! More towing grunt, speed, acceleration, same fuel economy/better and extremely quiet to boot!? Aw, snap. lol - Be right back going to drain the water out of my intercooler.

I started a thread awhile back tryin to find times for a 5.0 screw 4x4 like mine. Dont think i got a single answer. I was just tryin to get an idea what to expect. Cool weather is here, i just have to find time to go to the track. Not 1 closer than an hr and a half. I have my heart set on 14.3x with 93 tune, res delete, magnaflow, and cai. I love my 5.0, and i know the eco is quicker. Like any forced induction motor its goin to respond well to a tune. Hate people telling other people they are lying when they say they out ran a certain truck. Never know. Fastest truck i have raced was a hemi 2x4 crew with same mds as me plus long tubes and 3.92s. No way in the world im suppused to be faster than him, but i beat him twice. This comparing e.ts too, so reaction time didnt matter. I pulled away slowly both times. Friend of mines work truck is a tundra 5.7 and he said my truck feels faster. Tundra being stock. I wil post time slips when i get some. In the mean time quit bickering amongst ourselves and get a tune on whatever u have and enjoy out running alost any truck out these days.

Butt dynos can certainly be deceiving to all of us. At the end of the day if u like what u drive that's all that matters. I only commented in the thread because I had experience with all three truck having owned the tundra for the last 2 1/2 years. The thing I love about my ecoboost is it hauls tail without breaking a sweat. It just feels effortless. I could have been happy with a 5.0 as well. I take my races with a grain of salt seeing as I'm no professional driver and neith are the guys I'm racing. I love my FX2 and hope its as trouble free as my tundra. Looking forward to hearing how the race turns out.

Remember to over inflate(above manufacturer) your tires, it will help your top end which is where the tundra will probably have the best chance. I would try 40-45psi.
This has me very interested. I'm going to find out if anyone I know knows someone with a crewcab tundra that will race me. If I can find someone I will let you know how it goes!
