Nothing like true duals, but nice.
I have the exact same setup and the drone is rather annoying around 70 MPH, I think I am going to give the new Dynomax VT mufflers a try as they say they are drone free.

No drone at 70 even with the resonator delete. I do have 4" resonated tips though.

Would love to hear what it sounds like with the resonator still on. Please post up vids.

I too would like to get some more tone out of my exhaust but in no way am I looking for it to be too loud. I honestly enjoy the quiet cab (I've had my fair share of noisy exhausts on my last cars) I love the way my old mans stock 6.2l escalade sounds on startup. Has a nice growl to it but then you don't hear it cruising inside at all. Only if you stomp on it do you hear it again. I'm thinking maybe the borla pro xs muffler may be more to my liking.

perfect as i wanted to test the 40085 with the resy on, and off. So please could you post up a video of revving, inside and outside cab driving if you could? i really want to see what it sounds like with the resy still on. thanks!!

I was thinking of having the shop weld up a pieces with 2 flanges where the stock resy is so that i could either take off or re install the resy with just flanges on either side. I may still do that down the road as who knows, in a few years i may want to tone it down a bit by putting the resy back on.

Ok I will post a vid if I can never posted anything to youtube but hell I am 37 not 97 I dont think it will be to hard to figure out. Now I just need a better vid camera than my phone LOL.
I am going to try and have the muffler shop cut after the stock flange so I can switch with the 2010 piece that did not have the resonator so I can switch with factory pieces. I saw this referenced on this site some where so i assume its possible but have not crawled under the truck to look at that flange.
I am hoping for no drone and a deep but not loud tone at WOT.
I dont want any additional attention from my neighbors or the cops.

40085 is too loud. It is too loud around town at least. With only the 5 in dia theirs just not enough muffler even with the resonator I will report back after more driving and highway but I am betting there is going to be drone. In 2 gear at 2k on city streets is pretty loud.

still loud as hell. no chance to get a camera. I know this is to much now the only real question is do I put another muffler on and try and sell this one used or do I put another muffler too, or I guess if I found a quite enough muffler this would replace the stock resonator ok.
I don't know but its too loud.

I would remove it and try to sell it used. I'm about ready to order the dynomax super turbo #17769 for my truck. It should only be just a tad louder than stock because the case size is almost the same as the stock muffler.
