A good tuner can turn that feature off.

True. But then your warranty is voided. So, if a premature grenade happens, then you are without warranty.

Damned if you do...damned if you dont.

I purchased a new 2011 Ford F 150 Ecoboost Screw. It now has 77,000 kilometers on it.

In the last 4 months I have had to complete the following work;

1. Replace coolant chamber
2. Replace Front Brake Vacuum Assist Pump
3. Replace Front Brake Pads and Rotors
4. Replace Oxygen Sensor
5. And I am one of the lucky ones that has the timing chain issue

2011 Eco with 110k miles now.

Let's seeeeee....

Condensation issue
Spark Gap issue
Exploding Rear Window
5 Integrated Wheel Ends
Vacuum Solenoid for 4x4
Check valve for 4x4 vacuum
Timing chain replacement
Fuel Pump Replacement
Spontaneously cracked side mirror
Blend door makes grinding noise haven't replaced yet
Rear Slider Switch Replacement
Vacuum Pump Replacement

I did the vacuum pump, fuel pump, and spark plugs myself. So at least saved some money haha. Some of the other stuff was warranty
