11screw... Sorry you don't understand or appreciate the technology of the EcoBoost. Here's some help.
Lets look at one of my favorite Euro powerplants... The BMW 35i in the current X5.
BMW "3.5i" N55 Engine:
Hmmm, how does the EcoBoost compare?
Ford 3.5 "EcoBoost" Engine:
How many other automotive powerplants can you think of that offer a lightweight, fuel efficient package with over 100HP/Liter and over 100/ft-lbf/Liter? Or a technology combination of gasoline direct injection, twin turbos and variable valve timing?
Lets look at one of my favorite Euro powerplants... The BMW 35i in the current X5.
BMW "3.5i" N55 Engine:
- New for 2011.
- Twin-Scroll Turbo.
- Direct Injection
- 3.0L displacement.
- 4V/Cylinder
- Variable valve timing
- All-aluminum block
- 306 HP (102/L)
- 295 ft·lbf Torque (98/L)
- Flat torque curve from low RPM's
- 6.2 second 0-60 in 5,000 lb BMW X5
- 22 MPG EPA Highway in 5,000 lb X5

Eco boost is right on with other state of the art engines from anyone.
Sure there are some bombs that have been made by various manufacturers.
Heck, these were full on sports cars/ race cars. Comparison if not fair here. 100 hp/liter is a good benchmark, and EB delivers.
Sorry this motor is so polarizing, can't understand why some hate on it so much.
Ford has produced an engine that they stand behind not to bomb in 40k miles, and it is really good.
Even world class.
Get over it.
Of course there are a couple of engines that will beat it's output, go to the exotic sports car/ ultra high output engines to find them.
This is a pickup truck engine for goodness sake.
Go ahead and compare it to a Porche, it does just fine.
Some folks need a dose of reality.
